Utopia sequence break?
I had no idea where to begin and just started walking around the sides of the structures along the indents jutting out, and I followed one all the way around to a backwards-facing Progress Wheel. I'm guessing that wasn't intentional.

OH. I see. Yep. Not intended.

Are you actually supposed to solve the Utopia puzzles normally? Trying to avoid spoilers, but I keep finding so many places to break out of puzzles, walk around their outside, on top of walls etc. I pretty much touched the end consoles for all 4 without solving any of them, but also had to reboot myself to get out of some as I couldn't exit through a blue barrier. Not sure how much of this is intentional and how much is a really buggy layout.

No puzzle in the entire game requires that type of solution.

Well, Cornelius did say things may seem strange in there and not what I expect so...it sounded like Athena's mind is screwed up and so the puzzles are screwed up. If that's the case, that place needs a serious rework. The layout makes it look like it's intended for you to break out, because they put all the convenient ledges all around the water etc to bypass puzzles. It's not even any complicated glitching, it's literally just...walking on the side.

Edit; OK, I get it, no wonder it didn't seem solvable by itself. That's because it isn't. You are supposed to run back and forth between Utopia and Distopia to pass lasers. I assumed since it's not solvable the natural way, you are meant to break out lol.

Edit 2: In dystopia, are you meant to have a green laser to get your other self through the barrier? I went back for the teleporter and ported myself through the hole.

Yeah that's the idea. You learn the new mechanic in the little introduction puzzle just before - that these new source/receivers come in pairs and what you do to one will influence the other (sorta like quantum entanglement). For me when I couldn't do anything in Utopia, it was immediately intuitive to go to Dystopia to find the pair to the source/reciever.

I expected it would be in the same area so for me the intuitive thing was breaking out, mainly because it wasn't hard to do so. I went to explore to see if they hid what I needed around the corner and boom, there is the console to end the puzzle. It was strange.
