Puzzle 6 in West 3, I need a mild hint

I genuinely don't know what to do with the platform. I suspect I'm missing a mechanic that I have either forgotten or missed completely.

If that's the one where the platform is "hidden" on the wall by the vertical fan, you are not missing anything, you have everything you need inside the puzzle.

dont worry, we all do that from time to time. Run around the puzzle again and have a look whats there. (Took me a while to see the solution too. Total brain fart)
Puzzle is called "Mobile Instruments" so pay attention to the name..

I actually solved that puzzle by thinking about it when I was afk. I had no idea how to use the platform, so I thought about how it was used in other puzzles. There was always a clone holding it, and then something (or someone) was placed on top of it. So now I need to be holding it. And then something should get placed on top of it. At which point I knew exactly what the solution was going to be.

Hmm, turns out I already solve it once properly, but for whatever reason the items didn't stack properly.

So I dismissed the solution as "can't do it".

Now the obvious solution worked just fine. Thanks for the hints.

bonus part of this puzzle, it is really easy to smuggle things out of it.
Just use the fan and jump to the wall ahead (also a fast cheese for solving the puzzle)

Right, you don't need the platform piece at all to solve the puzzle.

This has to be the easiest puzzle in the game to cheese. I restarted this puzzle a half dozen times trying to figure out how to incorporate the platform and solve with the developer-intended solution.

Right, you don't need the platform piece at all to solve the puzzle.

you need the cube now (in beta version),so the cheese is a little different.

Even once you realise how to solve this puzzle despite the fact that this particular mechanic is not appearing anywhere else in the game, it's so hard to pull it off without having to reset everything that one wonders if this is indeed the correct solution. This is one of the worst puzzles in the game. It's also always unclear if you actually need the platform because of the blue sprite being up there.

This has been the most annoying one so far as I can't seem to drop the box in the magic spot needed to keep it all connected and have to reset if the force field beam gets broken...

Red herrings are rare, but not absent in these games. Oh and BTW, this mechanic appears earlier in the game as well

Finally did it after about a dozen goes! Is a nice solution but the randomness of dropping the box spoils it a bit.

So you could either carry around the connector on the box, while holding all this over your head with the platform. Or stack the platform and box on top of each other, at the top of the wall above the fan, and then jump from the top of the box to the top of the wall, and just walk on the wall, to the solution.

I believe, in the latest update, the cheese method no longer works. You have to do the carry around to complete the puzzle. This particular puzzle has been altered twice to prevent going off the reservation.
