Has anyone discovered any easter eggs so far?
I've been trying to keep an eye out, and so far I've come across just one, a Serious Sam one in the Museum of the Simulation.

Found a broken terminal in the boot-up area, and an odd checkerboard formation near the beach in W3 that seems to be part of a larger egg.

I tried to look for what you found in W3, but I went around the perimeter of the level there's no beach, it's all cliffside. Are you sure you don't mean another level, and are you sure its not tied to one of the Sphinx puzzles?
The checkerboard is in E3 - Eastern Wetlands and it's not tied to any sphinx puzzle. It's close to the puzzle 7 area and the large pillar.

I don't know if it's just me or even if it could be called an Easter egg, but Hermanubis speaks exactly the same way as Michael Palin's Pontius Pilate in Monty Python's Life of Brian who pronounces 'r' as 'w' and is asked to "Welease Woger, welease Woderwick and finally to welease Bwian".
And then Hermanubis, who has the same speech style gives you a quest called 'Release Byron'.
In my mind I could hear Palin saying "Welease Bywon"
I hate sand. It's rough coarse and gets in my ball bearings.
The Lost Marshes have https://youtu.be/-raaHD70Kq0?feature=shared&t=361 a rewind toy which is Volvy, the silly mouse with the big hand from Devolver's Direct

Larger egg? I can't imagine what that would be. It sure does look like it should be *something* though....

Several of these similar places / Structures all over the game. Non of them have any obvious meaning or use, except one or two holding a terminal

Pretty sure i read a post somewhere in here about the checkers board and it being a ref to one of the videos for this game (or first one)

Dammit. I didn't think volvy what so ever when i used it. Even after the Volvy campaign Devolver had a some months ago

Could be that there used to be a terminal there but it was scrapped. Or something like that.

Or they are all easteregg towards Rockstar putting all kind of weird tings in their games making theories running amok for 10 years (GTA V is notorious for this) :lunar2019laughingpig:
There's no good easter eggs or secrets like in Talos 1. In my opinion that's one of the biggest flaw... Maps are so big, I've wasted so much time exploring them and found nothing.

23 Postings so far and the only (weak) Easter Egg is that cardboard standup in the museum!? It seems there are indeed no Easter Eggs which can be compared to the (many) ones in TTP1!

But to be fair, the lack of easter eggs makes sense. They were so many of them in the original because the simulation was built on cobbled together game tech. But in this game, we're supposed to be in the real world, there's less opportunity then for easter eggs to be included. An over abundance of them here wouldn't sit right with the tone or setting as the player understands it for the majority of the game. And even considering what the player learns after completing the game, it doesn't make much sense to have as many easter eggs as the first did.

Lol that's quite a reach.

There are many eggs though, just not that obvious. Most is in and around New Jerusalem. And then the odd dialog in the game from time too time, but its a bit of stretch calling those eggs really.

Interpreting the game world correctly is a reach? Are we playing the same game?

Yes, it is and nothing about that was "correct". You could just as well argue it would make LESS sense for Easter Eggs to be in the simulation. Just a typical example of trying to justify something by construing false arguments, aka reaching.
