Add Hints to Solve Star Puzzles
Has anyone solved the star puzzles on their own yet?

I already completed the first 3 areas, went inside megastructure, out again. I already solved all the puzzles (including the 2 extra ones marked with triangles on each map), I just have the stars to collect.

Don't get me wrong, I love Talos Pinciple but the only thing I dislike is the very cryptic nature of the star puzzles, I don't like wasting hours of my day running around in a huge map like a clueless idiot without even knowing what I am looking for.

Ok thanks.

There are flame/sparks you can gather too. Has anybody found the flame on the zone 3 eastern wetland ?

It took me six hubs to realize that Prometheus shows you the direction where to look for the blue spark. I was just finding them at random or looking at guides.

Sphinx is fine as is I think. It's difficult to figure out but once you do, it's okay. Where the statue overlooks and which other puzzles are visible from that one are natural hints.

In the Sphinx riddles, what should you do after activating both switches? I've activated both switches in North 2 and tried to return to the Sphinx statue where I found the map, but didn't found anything.

you are missing something. Look around more

Getting the stars is no big deal except a few of the Pandora sparks are just egregiously irritating. Like the tower/rod-based one in South 3, I've spent way too much time running around like a moron looking for what I need to make it work, and it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. It's a huge waste of time, it's not something that's engaging or forces me to think outside the box, I'm just spending tons of time running around and looking for stuff.

What do you mean "both"? IIRC all switch based Sphinx problems involve 3 switches, check your map again.

3 or more. The first switch-based sphinx needs 4.

Sphinx involves finding switches on the map - the engraving will show you where to find the switches

Pandora just needs to receive green laser

Prometheus you just need to find the blue spark and follow it back.

When I created this thread I thought that each star would be an unique riddle/puzzle to solve, but they follow the same theme through all the areas.

I was thinking it would be very cryptic impossible stuff like in TP1.
I was on the same boat, trying to figure out how to "read" the hints. The only one I got very easily was the one with 2478 as I didn't overthink and knew it was the misterious switches I've found in the back of each numbered puzzle sign.

Pandora stars kinda give in because she's holding a green laser thingy up there, but I have no idea on how to read the plaque.

I had to search a green laser on the near surroundings because the hint did nothing for me.
Can someone explain how to read that plaque below? I don't know what am I'm looking at.

It's just a picture of a receiver, hinting vaguely at the receiver above it. They could've added an up arrow to really drive home the hint but at some point it becomes too handholdy.
That said, the demo had both of them automatically connected to a relay which may have made it easier to figure it out. The one in South 1 still does, no?

Os so it's just the receiver? Hmm. Still no idea on how to interpret the drawing. That's when I start to overthink because it's too cryptic. It could be directions like North/South/East/West. And that's makes things worst for me because I'm terrible at following cardinal points. :(

About the part where you mentioned the demo, I have no idea 'cos I didn't even remember seeing anything like that in the demo. I posted the link to image to ask for help but I didn't know where that is from because I found a almost identical one on East 3 (at least it looks almost identical to me, which makes it even more difficult to interpret what it means).

In the first game, I never got a single star because it was extra stuff and I had no idea about the logic behind btw.

this one for example.

it's seems pretty clear that "X marks the spot", right? Well, I searched that area for 2 hours and couldn't find anything. That's how hard it is for me to read pictures. Unless it's underground, but I was too tired to keep looking and went to bed last night.

Ah, that's a Sphinx statue, they all have different hints. It's the Pandora ones that are the same, just a picture of a receiver, and the Prometheus ones all just have text saying to look for the spark.
As for that one, it took a bit of searching but it is indeed X marks the spot, and not underground. If it helps in any way: it's a lever on a concrete block.

Oh my god, I can't open the game now because I'm rendering a video. So I went to youtube to see where the heck is that spot, and it's SO far from the giant man statue. I thought it was on the right side of it just by looking at the picture. I was looking on that forest right next to him, you see?

On man, I see I'm gonna have trouble with the next stars by the looks of things.

Anyway, thanks a bunch! At least I have a grasp now about how to read these pictures.
Goblin Nov 5, 2023 @ 9:26pm
Well if it's any consolation, the other picture hints like that are top down so depth is less of an issue. It's actually two of the Pandora ones that are the hardest, I'd say. Good luck with further star hunting when you're done rendering :)

All of them still have stippled lines, but not From/To statue.
The one in Demo was unique since you cant use the intended puzzle.
