Controller not working
I have a dualsense, it's not working in this game wether I use it as is or through DualSenseX as an Xbox controller. The correct option was selected in the options menu each time.

Is it just me?

Hey LeBart, please make sure you have the Playstation configuration support enabled in the steam controller settings. You can follow this guide here.

Same issue here. PS5 controller not working in game. The controller works fine in the desktop Steam app and Big Picture mode and in all other games loaded through Steam. Some only work wired some work wireless. Tried both here. In Talos II settings tried Dualsense and Generic controller. Tried Controller Default / Disable / and Enable Steam input in Steam. Reloaded Steam and game each time. Only KB and Mouse work in Talos II.

Once the game is started, press Shift + Tab to open Steams interface. From there go to controller settings (on the bottom if using Steam Beta), and make sure Steam Input is turn on from there. Working on mine now.

Thanks. I've tried every variation on Steam Input. Nothing works.

yeah, mine wouldn't work either until I did it from within the running games overlay menu. Sorry it didn't work out for you too.

This game is tagged as "Full controller support" in the store page but only works using Steam Input when using a PS5 controller (wired).

Is this a bug?

I thought "Full controller support" meant "Native controller support" without being forced to use Steam Input.

Update. I deleted userdata and steamapps in the Steam installation folder and then ran Steam as admin. Once it updated, I went to the Steam overlay. Disabling and re-enabling controller support, as Kalmier suggested, fixed the issue. The only issue now is the screen prompts are for Xbox controller. To deal with this in other games I simply disabled Steam controller input and it reverts to PS controller prompts. Any fix here in controller setup? Thanks.

You can change the controllers prompt icons in the settings of the game :)

I also cannot get DualSense working, despite Steam indicating support. I am connected with a wire, the controller works with Steam and other games fine, including haptics and resistive triggers (in games that support them). But TTP2 just ignores my controller.

It does work with SteamInput being forced on, and the fact that you can pick your own glyps in the settings is awesome, more games should do this, but I wonder why the native support seems to be broken for me.

Mine actually worked for the first half of November but just tried to play now and its not working anymore without forcing Steam Input on.

I think it used Steam Input before actually as always had the Xbox prompts but it now thinks the game supports it natively which it seemingly does not?

yeah, this game actually seems to require steam input to be enabled, 99% of all other games work much better with steam input disabled...

use ds4windows
For anyone using a PS4 controller: I fixed my no controller input issue by going into Steam>Settings>Controller and changing "Playstation Controller Support" from "Enabled on Games w/o support" to just "Enabled"

After changing to "Enabled" the PS4 controller worked in menus and in game,(picked up as Xbox controller, but game settings allow Controller hardware to be changed)
