This game is bad (for now)
I'm a big fan of the first game and DLC and still don't understand why the second game isn't a direct sequel.
This is reminiscent of the situation with NieR Replicant and Nier: Automata, one universe, but not connected games AT ALL.
Why do we need to jump hundreds of years into the future? Why do robots differ by gender? They decided to follow the example of people? Then I don't see any conflict between them.

In the scene after the elevator, the lighting broken. And this is not an engine problem, it’s your crooked hands that were unable to correctly distribute one light into two scenes on ONE PLACE. (RE3 Remake says hello)
Why Unreal Engine? Do you no longer need your wonderful engine? Your engine has already produced a beautiful picture.

Where does this impossible architecture and meaningless buildings come from? Did you forget that in the game the character wakes up in the real world (lmao)?
Why puzzles for the sake of puzzles? This is no longer a simulator, and any of these puzzles can be solved using a jetpack. Since robots can create teleports, they must have a jetpacks. If there are no jetpacks, robots have all the tools in the world. The HELICOPTER they arrived on, after all.

Why couldn't puzzles be built into the story? Insert a plug into the socket to supply power to the elevator, and solve several other similar problems? There are many such examples.
Because of this absurdity, you lose the feeling that the game is taking place in the REAL WORLD, and not in the SIMULATION from the first game.

Sorry, I'm canceling my pre-order :(

games look fricking good on my end....

Demo looks fine to me, my only problem is the new mechanics are a bit confusing.

Took me a bit to figure out the RGB connector. Now I am stuck on a puzzle with a "teleporter" tool that does not seem to do anything except hold down a button? I figure I am missing something but can't figure out what. I am assuming this is just a pacing issue caused by the demo rather than bad design.

Edit: I think the teleporter is bugged and doesn't always work if you drop into the first puzzle in the second area from above, rather than using the teleporter as intended.

Oh, and the entire game crashes if you lock your PC. Might want to fix that.

I don't think we'll be going back to the Serious Engine at any point.
But then how will you give Serious Engine 7.5 to talos team for the simulation, huh??? Lore inaccurate

.
No it is not bugged. Puzzles don't activate unless you go through the first "force field" that activate them (you get the name of puzzle popped up).

if the story continued right after the end of talos 1, they would've had to make it a survival sandbox game. not sure if people would've been into that.

After what happened with Cyberpunk 2077, I think it's quite understandable why to switch to an engine maintained by a large company!

You're so right! I'm canceling my pre-order as well! Not.

I don't know, maybe you're thinking about getting it down the line with a discount. But I bet you, you're going to get it sooner or later. If you liked the first one, there's no way you're going to skip this one.

Unless it gets really bad reviews. Let's hope not.

The first part had a very strong philosophical component. Serious questions and serious reflections. In the second part, there was no trace of this. Yes, there are still puzzles... and a lot of cheap pathos. It's just horrible. The beginning speculates on the themes of the previous part, and from the moment you start a dialogue with another robot, you want to close the game, delete it and never return to it. Some kind of pseudo-society of Generation Z robots who (oh, what a surprise) behave like modern teenagers and who are concerned with modern issues like gender)... It looks so trashy. Some incomprehensible system of dialogs that make you want to vomit. Am I playing Forza Horizon or Talos? Or is it Terminator: Resistance? Will the RPG component be like Starfield?

You should try playing the game we made (you know, the people who made the original) and not the game in your imagination. This is as much a game about philosophy as the first, and it's written with the same love of humanity that defined Alexandra Drennan in the original. The characters are in no way modern teenagers, unless you mean that they have human personalities, exactly like the characters in Gehenna. Perhaps you are mistaking affect for content, and responding merely to the fact that the game no longer communicates everything in a Biblical tone. That does not change whether it is serious, however.

Please stop projecting whatever makes you angry in the world right now into this game and instead try to engage with what's actually there. That's the only basis on which you can have a meaningful experience, and we can have a conversation in good faith.

ETA: How did I know you're not engaging in good faith? There isn't a single line about gender in the entire game. It was only discussed here in the forum, and exists in the game only by implication. So nothing you're saying has anything to do with the actual game, only with what makes you angry and what issues you bring with you. Art, as they say, is a mirror.

I think this "farming points" thing is going off the charts nowadays. Somebody have to do something about it. I would suggest devs if they are reading those kinds of posts to not take them into consideration.

Oh, I played The Talos Principle. I can't say it has anything to do with you, since the second part only speculates on the original game and its Gehenna DLC, but I played that game, not the "game in your imagination". It's actually a shame that you only have a problem with one of my theses, around which you have built a whole theory about what a bad person I am.

Oh, wow, have you already played the entire Talos Principle 2?
Ah, please, share your copy with all of us here then, we peasants were sadly only introduced to a demo-version of it, so we didn't have the chance to adequately experience the abhorrent lack of philosophy in the full game....

Uff, I'm really glad you didn't check out the demo of Talos Principle, the lack of strong philosophical topics there is straight out deceptive in regards to experience from the full game!
Who would have thought that demo-versions are usually just a glimpse into themes of the game to come...

We encourage debate of the game's themes and ideas. It is, after all, a game made to provoke thought.

However, simply inventing things about the game out of some strange sense of personal grievance or obsession with internet culture wars is not conductive to reasoned debate in this forum. The idea that the game is about Gen Z robot teenagers who spend the game debating gender is... frankly, simply an obvious and objectively disprovable lie. Or pehaps something you want to see because you are angry at the world. But it's not there, and we can't argue with you about a game that doesn't exist.

If you are angry at teenagers, I strongly suggest you stop behaving like one.

You somehow managed to draw a conclusion about the whole story by just playing a glimpse of it. The demo is a specially curated showcase that highlights different elements of the game, including bits of the story, various mechanics, and areas for exploration.

Every single thing you mentioned, such as puzzles not being integrated into the story, plugging a socket to power the elevator, and the seemingly impossible architecture, is all interconnected in the story, and there is an explanation for all of these elements. They are integrated into the story and play a major role.
Thanks, i was addicted to the theme of the first game, and this one was it was an instant buy for me as i support the work you guys do, i just hope you didnt go all woke on us here.
