HDR Broken?
In the demo when I activate HDR the colors just get washed out and the game doesnt properly display in HDR. I'm on win11 with an HDR monitor, I play other games in HDR just fine. Is there something I might be doing wrong?

I've just tested this myself and I too am getting washed out colours when enabling HDR in the game menu (having first enabled it through the Windows display settings).

I am using an RTX 3080 with the latest 545.92 driver and a 48" LG C1 TV connected to the PC via HDMI.

I have Windows 11 Pro version 22H2 build 22621.2428.

Crucially I have calibrated my screen in HDR using Windows 11's HDR calibration app available in the Microsoft store which determines peak brightness and creates an ICC colour profile.

Have the people having problems like me all used this Windows 11 HDR calibration app?

Oh yeah I did use that on my display that has the washed out colors too, think I did also try it with that calibration disabled with no luck, but can't be sure if Windows had actually disabled it properly.

Would be odd for that to be bugging out the color space switching, but who knows with these new Windows releases...

Could you try disabling the colour profile in the Windows display settings (that appears when you enable HDR)?

What version of Windows are you using, is it up to date? Is it Windows 10 or 11? You can type winver into the start menu to see all the details like build number, version etc.

You haven't disabled the Game Bar have you?
I've already reported those information to eagleshadow when he asked for it.

I have faith you guys are going to fix the HDR issue, so I pre-ordered despite of it. Very excited to play at launch.

it's still in the demo; did they fix this in the full game?

Still unable to figure it out, so It's not fixed yet. Contacted Epic for help and waiting for their assistance currently.

Bummer. At least you're trying to fix it. And UE5 is already gorgeous even without HDR.
I just wish I could play it with HDR at launch. Thanks for always giving feedback to the community anyway.

Did you try using Windows 11 and calibrating with the Microsoft HDR calibration app (which creates a colour profile)? Because as far as I can tell that's what those of us who have problems have done.
Oooch Nov 2, 2023 @ 8:04am
Yeah the colours are washed out in this, doesn't happen in any other game or movie that is HDR supported

Bad first impression of the game

Happens on an LG C2 with a 4090

Same problem using a 4070 Ti and a LG GX. Never used the HDR calibration app.
