Why do ppl hate motion blur
I started playing Demo with 50-70 FPS, and motion blur strength set to 1. After playing for like 1 hour something was not right and I couldn't figure out what. Turned on motion blur to 10, and now game feels much better.

because it looks horrible.

This.
Per-object motion blur is alright, but on camera movement it's absolutely horrendous and one of the first things any sane person deactivates. Same goes for most depth of field and vignette effects.
That's the first thing I turn off in any game. It looks terrible and in my opinion, immersion breaking.
Looks like you are constantly drunk.

This explains everything, thanks
If you like it, fair enough. Its an option. Why bother arguing about it? to me Motion Blur looks bad, to you it looks good, whats the problem here? that is an option for a reason, to keep both of us happy.

It's quiet easy. Motion blur causes motion sickness. There is conflict between the eyes and the equilibrium organe which causes something similar to sea sickness. some are not affected, most get mild symthoms and a few get head ache and even need to throw up because of it. we tend to rationalize this effect to "i don't like it" or "it does not look good"

Yeah... I don't like chromatic aberation because I only see black & white, I don't like DOF because I use glasses, and I don't like MB because I sometimes get drunk. And I DO like HDR probably because I'am completly blind!

You should be pleased with how it's all very nicely rationalized.
Why do people hate motion blur?

Because when they see "motion blur", they automatically think about either the PS2-era motion blur (which sucked) or the overdone early UE3 motion blur. (which also sucked)

I don't know about others, but if I look at moving things or rotate my head at a usual speed, I don't notice any blurriness. And it is ok, I have no reason to add any smearing to my vision.

Motion blur is the poor man's persistence of vision. You get "motion blur" automatically at higher framerates.
Motion blur and dof should not be enabled by default. It's a crime against gamers. Just cause the human eye can do it, doesn't mean that the effects should transfer over to games. Also that dumb decision to add the effect to darken the corners of the screen and the decision where you can't turn it off. Grrrr!!.

I have perfect eyesight so everything in the world looks extra sharp all the time.

Even tiny amounts of motion blur looks like eyes are out of focus and it's a physically unpleasant sensation. It also makes eyes fatigue for me.

Perhaps people who don't have perfect eyesight can tolerate motion blur to a better degree as for them everyday world already looks slightly out of focus and they are completely used to some degree of that.

I'm happy there's an option so that everyone can have their favourite settings.

I think a good example would be bramble the mountain king. The game it self looks gorgeous but the damn motion blur and film grain made it look bad.
Sadly in the game you can't turn it off. But someone found an easy on removing it and damn, the game looks so much better now.

Motion blur is the poor man's persistence of vision. You get "motion blur" automatically at higher framerates.

But I don't have high framerates. I can play at 120+ FPS in 1080p ultra, or I can play in 4k at 60 FPS on ultra.
60 FPS is not enough for me to get "natural" motion blur. But I want better graphics at 4k resolution.

It makes blurry only if you rotate camera. If I rotate camera I don't pay attention on the objects, because my point of interest is not in the field of view right now.
If I walk normally motion blur only blurs on peripheral vision zone.

And this, my friend, is why 4K is and remains a meme.
I turn it off because while it looks nice in trailers or other peoples footage, it FEELS worse on my 144hz low ms monitor. I like high refresh rates, because it helps give a clearer set of images, which helps me make moment to moment decisions. In slower paced games I understand the appeal, but I still find it annoying. Similar to TAA :P
