Game breaking bug?

Unless there's a way to fix this, I will have to start a new game. I'm at the point where you get the item to make the train work.. but I clicked on the glass box instead of doing the HoG first.. and now I can't exit the screen where the glass box is... please fix this.

Try moving the cursor into the top-right corner of your screen, if the cursor changes you are over the invisible red X you need to click to exit the screen. Or change your resolution to a not wide-screen resolution and the red X in the upper right corner may apear.
