I just know there is a "Hell Temple" in this game.
Only problem is how to trigger it. Decrypting the Unity files gives audio to a new field and boss not found in the game to my knowledge.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjQlzlMEexc (Aqua Wish)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va6f5vZ-luo (Unknown Boss)

There is also a pink line on the mini map leading to where the Shrine in the Sky is supposed to be in the Gate of Guidance, but rubble blocks your path. I'm sure there is a way to trigger something to get into this area. The name of the zone theme being called Aqua Wish leads me to believe that it may reside in the secret of the 3rd Children.

For those of you who finished the game. We aren't done yet!

Hasn't yet been implemented, as far as we know?

That's where Aqua Wish is supposed to play? I love that track, I think it might have been the first La Mulana 2 track I heard quite some time back, too. I was hoping it'd play during one of the main areas in the game.

Apparently it was an unused track in the original and remake too. But why make the song 3 times unless it has some signifigance. Maybe there is a clue in the older games that might help us now?

I think Spiral Hell is supposed to be the Hell Temple representative in this game. They got some of the money towards the stretch incentive but probably didn't get all the way there, right? So they implemented it this way, made it part of the obligatory storyline and made it pretty easy and straightforward. Like a nod towards Hell Temple.

I mean, it would be strange if they somehow baked a Hell Temple into the game when we already have Spiral Hell, right? I'd absolutely love a fiendishly difficult and cryptic area as DLC though.. maybe even make it incredibly hard to find, almost like in the original.

Yup: $266,670 out of $300,000 for Evil Stages (including Hell Temple)... but they didn't include backers that contributed directly from Playism into this sum, and the point that Hell Temple was added latter to the PC remake (and Wii version) pretty much just because Naramura felt like it, so there's still hope.

Also, someone has commented (in another discussion) that the last costume (which cannot be currently obtained in-game) is supposed to be a fish costume and was present on the later alphas (I didn't mess around with console commands on these, so I can't confirm for sure); maybe that makes an appearance down the line.

Another tidbit from the stretch goals: the save screen shows the eyes and name of Lumisa at the top-right corner, as there was a goal to add certain other characters as playable (Are "Character Switch" and "Character Stories" ). Yes, Mulbruk was supposed to be playable, maybe even in a Megaman X3 style.

That would be nice, right now she pretty useless, and most of the time only give hints about things I already did. they really need to fix those triggers.

Like I said in another thread, Hell Temple is based on Spiral Hell (in terms of lore), not the other way around. Fobos was subtler about taking ideas from Eg-Lana when rigging up all of the traps in La-Mulana, but Dracuets blatantly stole the layout and visual design of an entire area. The whole thing is a joke, and one that I find quite funny, though admittedly poorly timed, being delivered when the player enters the game's final area and is trying to get hyped up for finally beating the game.

I could take or leave another Hell Temple. The first Hell Temple was 100% a joke on the player for wasting their time trying to solve it. It wasn't fun. I don't want to deal with anything like that again.

I got into La-Mulana with the remake, but I actually went back and played the original MSX-style version afterwards. I quite like it, and I'm glad I did, although it seems like most people didn't, and I can understand that, as the remake is much more polished. I can understand not wanting to have to select Antarctic Adventure and Comic Bakery from your ROM list every single time you want to warp to the backside; it's a real pain, for sure.

Anyway, I suffered through the remake Hell Temple, but I saw no need to suffer through the original Hell Temple. Once is enough.

I mean, just because first Hell Temple was named or themed a certain way doesn't mean that its incarnation in LM2 is going to be similar. I would be expecting something wildly different. Given the lack of hints in LM2 I think the OP might be on to something with LM1 hints. How many tablets are unsolved/ unlinked to puzzles so far (I never keep track of this sort of stuff)? Same goes for NPCs. Something is either being overlooked or Hell Temple isn't in yet.
Wild Matsu Aug 13, 2018 @ 8:41pm
I screenshotted every tablet and NPC dialogue in the game. As I solved puzzles, I moved them into the "solved" folder. A few were unaccounted for at the end but I saw others talking about them and realized they were hints to puzzles I solved anyway. There is genuinely nothing unaccounted for.

Also, data mining ruined our fun again. Apparently the game was decompiled and they found maps for the Spring in the Sky (which is the BIGGEST unsolved mystery) but nothing Hell Temple related.

Spring in the Sky is something I was waiting to reach the whole game; it's my favorite area, with the best song, in LM1. The map shows a pink edge there... and in the end it was never given. I wonder if the Bronze Mirror was originally there, and as the deadline approached they were forced to cut the SitS and move it elsewhere.

Even the "that which is correct goes unscathed, that which is wrong recieves justice by the sword" tablet? As far as I know noones linked that or the sword ceiling room to anything.

Has anyone else encountered the weird thing in the Corridor of Blood where you fall into the void and, if you teleport out using the chalice, end up as only half of Lumisa (just her legs, unable to attack?) When I first encountered it I thought I'd stumbled across the way to access this game's Hell Temple, but it seemed so weird that I eventually decided it was a bug.

(Saving and reloading fixed it. But I had it happen a second time, so doing so doesn't lock you out of... whatever it is. Assuming it's not a bug.)

Unfortunately I have no idea what causes it beyond the fact that it happened when I was going through the Corridor of Blood a lot (very early in the game.)

Only weird thing happening to me in the CoB was clipping through the wall with Gale and falling forever.

Yes, that's what causes it, I think. Did you use the grail to teleport out, or did you reload a save? If you use the grail to teleport out, you end up as just a pair of legs. It's such a weirdly specific glitch that I thought it might be a secret that acts as part of the path to unlock something like this.

I didn't end up in any weird state after teleporting out. I just got the falling animation/ stun. I suspect that its ikely caused by either a recent patch or sometimes it happens after unrealistically long falls. (Does that mean you can jump into crouch only spacces btw? If so you might be onto something.)
