We honestly don't know that much about Lumisa, Lemeza, or Shawn.
I've seen some speculation that Lumisa was an illegitimate child, and other that theorizes that she's actually Shawn's.
All said, is it really all that important?
I think the theory that she was made using the Secret Treasure of Life after La-Mulana 1 was kicked around a lot by fans. It seemed so obvious that we were not really waiting for LM2 to confirm that... we were waiting for LM2 to shed further light on why she was made and what significance that would have for the game's story.
As for her age being wrong, it would have easily been explained away by 21 being her physical/apparent age, not her true age. She could have been created as an adult. Simple as that.
This contradicts Lumisa rescuing Lemeza from the death trap in the Chamber of Birth in the April Fool's video, as that would have been before her creation, but that didn't seem like a big hurdle at all; the April Fool's video can be safely assumed to be not canon.
But alas, LM2 doesn't tell us anything about Lumia. I guess, ultimately, La-Mulana is not about the Kosugis. It's about the ruins. We merely experience them through the Kosugis.
