There's two entrances; the Vidofnir one is a dead end, as Modgud makes clear. But there's another entrance, which is indicated in tablets. Izanagi tells you how to unseal one of the entrances to the Underworld. Have you actually tried that on every entrance you know of?
Though i wasn't quite aware of any other entrances to the underworld (or i forgot), hope that won't be too hard to find... (Maybe a tiny hint on atleast what direction to look at for it would be nice, the ruins are a huge place, that or a hint/reminder of where that hint-tablet was placed again?)
Hm, i really should take a momentary break to eat something now, probably.
The other entrance to the Underworld is one I'm certain you've found, based on your original post. There's a tablet that explicitly says what the other entrance to the Underworld is, as well.
I can only assume that dark area in the immortal battlefield has a trap that makes you fall down there and you gotta not land in the purple insta-death laser. But i don't even know how to get anything done in the dark room without dying instantly the moment i do a step forward!
Jeez, this is just stressful... Still no progress to be made... I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for entrances into those spots...
Hint 1: That breakable wall is how you get into the room to the left. So, trace the path...
Hint 2: The path may not start inside the Immortal Battlefield.
Solution: Start in the Icefire Treetops. In the room with the ghost snake woman NPC, break the wall at the top right.
Sounds like you're at the stage I was stuck at, only me being the muppet that I am didn't know how to get into the normal AC area in the first place. Anyway, you don't exactly go through the wall to reach that seal....
Check the room above. It'll be the area where you fought that knight type git with the sword and shield.
Notice the Eye? You need a mantra combination to open the area from there. I had to look it up, so I don't rightly know where the tablet is that gives you it. I'll bang it in the next section if you just want it.
All in one go. Earth. Sea. Fire. Wind. If you get lasered, it's the wrong combination. Oh, and try not to faceplant into the barrier.
Well, maybe after a break that is, my brief explorations quickly lead to death and it's a bit much to do and take in without some mental preperation if you can't teleport and heal/save... (Atleast i should be beefy enough to attempt it with like, 322 health, probably.)
I've yet to discover the alternate entrance to the underworld that i heard about, if i passed it by then i really don't freakin' remember where it was. I don't even remember which character or tablet gave hints on where it was located. Best that i can remember is that there's that yama guy in Immortal Battlefield hinting about some treasure there, and some kinda path to it, but that's still awfully vague for now.
If the Corridor of Blood is not the right path forward a slight hint/reminder wouldn't go amiss, but otherwise i guess i'm probably good to go for now. Though i'm sure the game will stump me with some other really cryptic BS puzzle later-on... But thanks for the help atleast. :P
Well, i got the bronze mirror a fair while ago, picked up all kinda hints about the underworld (like a mantra to bypass garm), and of course did the crazy thing and checked out the gate in the pool of lava (that pillar trap hallway didn't even get me the first time, due to my paranoia ever since the first pillar-hallways, so if a hallway looks suspicious, ♥♥♥♥ it, i'm runnin' through it full-speed!), managed to sneak a fairy out of the underworld, so far so good.
I guess now i should explore the actual fancy ornate gate past the map chest and see where that leads me, and probably also check the other NPC doors near the pillar trap and trapdoor... Well, i got enough to do atleast, just hope it'll go easy on the insta-kill traps, they're quite annoying when you can't easily leave and save/heal.
Hm, the game sure loves it's pillar/crush traps, doesn't it...? Way more of em in here then there where in the first game as far as i remember. Pity some of them aren't very obvious, like the underworld one i just mentioned. No floor/ceiling marks, no bones/skeletons, nope. Makes me wish there was an app dedicated solely to warning you of crush traps in the area. It'd be everyone's favourite!
I'd spoiler that last comment, but given that even I don't remember where it was, then I doubt it's ruining anything XD
And no. It's not that one. I know the one you think I meant. It's not that. I know why that bit did that. So no. Not that one. I can't remember and Oh lord of all Curry and memes I'm terrified of where that room is and I'm aware I'm hopeless, but yeah.
For the memes, No, it's not the spot in the Icefire Treetops with the visible gas. I don't know if it was gas that did me in or a trap and I was half asleep, but it wasn't in the Underworld...I didn't have the Wind mantra at the time. That's all I do remember. xD
(One of my crazy plans was to simply run like hell to the tile, and maybe teleport out, but i never got to fully try that... :P)
Atleast the Alert App is useful, yeah. Wish it'd tell me more at times, but it's free information (and it's an easy way to tell what liquid you're in). Not that i'm in the habit of using flares anyway so flammable gas is pointless, so far.
On that note, i'm suprised the pistol doesn't trigger flammable gas, i mean, guns more or less use a small concentrated explosive force to propel bullets, so... You'd think it would trigger on pistol use? Oh well.
I'm pretty sure they just never expected you to waste precious pistol ammo in random rooms.
Of note there is another thing that triggers flammable gas: if your attack has fire. This happens when You equip the Flame Torc you get from Sutur. Late in the game you have to be careful walking into rooms with gas because of this.
Egg of Creation is used for much later stuff so don't sweat that for now.
Vase is required to unlock the Cog, both are required to proceed much further. There are clues for these in a zone that you have probably been too scared to do much in. While it is a difficult and arcane zone, you do need to explore it if you want to beat the game without spoilers. Multiple pivotal mantra clues are hidden there. I'm talking, of course, about The Eternal Prison
You should be able to acquire the Moon Mantra at this stage, yes. Area names on your map are important. Note that other mantras you've found have been in "altar" areas, i.e. Fire was in the Fire Altar in Valhalla and Sea was in the Sea Altar in the Shrine of the Frost Giants.
There are some clues in the Mausoleum for how to get into the room of judgment. It is guarded by an Ammit, and the Ammit lives in the Garden of Stars. Again, pay attention to room names and take a look at items you may have related to these things.
Heaven's Labyrinth has a lot to explore, but you need to work out the machinations of how it operates. The grail room seems to have some kind of mechanism in the background. Certain words can help trigger it. Consider what the zone is named...
This one is much more solveable without a guide than LM1 was. For the most part, if there were solutions I had to look up, I'd either seen the answers previously and overlooked them, or the clues were in the Underworld. Keep exploring, you're on the right track!
