What major bugs are you talking about? I rarely experience anything other than lag issues.
I have no idea what this game is anymore
Atlas is a fun game, for sure, and it is a game with a load of potential and promise. However, it is the epitome of foolishness to assert that the developers are "doing fine." Numerous serious bugs and design-level deficiencies with the core model of the game make it untenable for a long-term gameplay experience, be it solo, cooperative, or competitive.
I like Atlas for what it is, but it is not without its flaws, some of them serious and glaring, and it could be so much more if the developers put more effort into
1) Fixing long-standing issues with things like spawn locations, physics, clipping, claims, duplicate spawns, and disappearing ships.
2) Removing gold cost from ship crafting entirely, reworking modular ships to exist solely on a blueprint-basis with a minimum quality (e.g. the Mortar Ship would never appear less than Fine quality and the Kraken wouldn't ever be less than Masterwork)
3) Revitalizing the world into a more mixed model (instead of almost purely PvP), with various NPC factions to support or oppose, territorial conquest between them and players, Missions and Reputation with those factions, and appropriate NPC reactions to a player with highly positive (rescue/aid squads) or negative (hunting/assassin squads) Reputation.
