Pixelated, blurred, and unreadable map.
Every time I open the map using "m" it its a blurred pixelated mess, the compass and everything else in the game looks fantastic. When I zoom out of the map I can see the words "neutral" clearly and also can see my ship icon, just not the details of the islands because they are pixel blurred. Anyone have any fixes?

Yeah, same. And treasure maps are totally blank. Kind of a game breaker.

I was wondering about that too. Is that a bug or by design, especially the blank treasure maps? The blurry map I could understand. Maybe it's just a rough sketch.

and as its a single player issue its unlikely to get looked at any time soon - they have enough problems with the main game at the moment and that is their number one priority.

So In MP the maps aren't blurry and treasure maps show something? I'm new to the game and I've only played SP.

The ones i saw on a server did, just didn't offer much gold. 17 gold on the few maps i looked at. Was odd since the random flotsam was offering ~400 gold each.

As for treasure maps in single player mine (starting on the most recent patch) started giving blurry versions for any in my starting region, anything outside of there was clear. Of course the players handmap is blurry as can be in this recent patch, but was fine before then. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

Thanks. Yeah it's never a good sign when developers break things as they attempt to fix/update other stuff. I've read the warnings, but I decided to dive into this game anyway, especially since it was on sale.
That's not a sign of anything Unster. The bigger the game, the more likely such things are to happen.

as for the map issue, it's a SP problem on lower end windows 10 devices, related to resource allocation. I'm still trying to work out the specifics of the how and why (out of personal curiosity) however, my device (skytech shiva with AMD Ryzen 2600, RTX 2060, 16gb ddr4, 5tb HDD with 500GB SSD, custom coolant) does not have the issue, everything loads instantly on max settings, so I had to buy a lower end rig as well to help test for performance related bugs like this one.

The big issue is that Grapeshot prioritizes multiplayer over singleplayer, when really, they should be fixing both at an equal pace. singleplayer tends to get neglected, which is a bummer.

-bump, problem is still persisting for me. i have a pc that has an i5 with a gtx 1060, and one that has an i9 with a gtx 3070. they both have this problem....

edit: also happens on mp for me not just in sp

Same here. Not my PC's fault.

If it's just borked in SP like a lot of things, they probably won't fix it anytime soon if at all. I don't think they even test the SP mode when they make changes.

This is on a 4790K, Vega64, 32GB RAM, NVME SSD, Win10x64

It looks the same in MP servers too, on Ark the map was very useful to explore, & find new areas etc. on here it's an unfunny joke. :BL3Facepalm:

Has anyone found a solution?

If You go to the Atlas map in the menu, & zoom in, it fixes the handheld map's zoom, & rez. I just found out Myself in game. :tikitorch:
