There's lots of fun in PvE.
-You dont want to play official PvE tho cuz that is boring you need unofficial with some nice decor mods to build yourself a pretty base or small town.
-As far as i know tames CAN die in PvE aswell and for the breeding part its just fun to breed them to the max they can go.
-As far as the thatch house goes thats totally up to you, on our server people build castles(stone), beach houses (wood/thatch), Powerstone Island mythical bp bases and so on.
Yes you can just build a thatch house and be done with it but there are so much possibilities on unofficial with some nice decor mods.
-As far as the Kraken and Ice cave we do those as server events and encourage new people to become active in the community.
-Treasure maps you do those ofcourse for the nice bp's since indeed you dont need alot of gold, just for flag upkeep and buying cosmetics or recources in the freeport.
-Pillaring is generally a big nono on PvE, if people want to build on your island or near your base they usually ask (different type of mindset to PvP players i think).
Hope this gives you an idea how atleast PvE works on our unofficial PvE server:)
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
For now have a nice day!
Lets see in PVP what do you do for fun?
Find Solo players with your group of 5 friends and grief them.
Find that group of 3 players wait for them to go offline then raid and destroy everything they worked for.
Place pillars in the ocean around the coast designed to sink any ships that come along.
Call out anyone that defeats you in a fair fight as a hacker or cheater.
Sit around thinking of stupid things to say on the forums about PVE gameplay.
Yeah the above seems to sum up PVP with in the game.
Now looking at PVE.
Help out the new guy that just bought the game, perhaps have him join your company.
Tame animals for resource gathering
Set up trade markets for those that perfer combat over harvesting.
Team up as a server for boss battles.
Learn better ways of taking out SOTD by trial and error.
Run rescue missions for those new guys that get caught by SOTD along the border wall.
Go whaling with friends just because.
Sit around curious as to why PVP players are so toxic and against PVE.
I have over 1k hrs in this game and not a single second in PVP. I have 2k hrs in Ark and not a single second in PVP. I could name a dozen other games that I never touch PVP in. PVP from what I have seen is a toxic dump. It is where all the kids go to justify treating their fellow man like dog crap. Most times there is no PVP just offline raiding which is really PVE if the victim thought to leave their tames on aggressive. You need players on the other side for PVP, to all you offline raiders.
This is a PVP player he could care less about PVE he is just trolling. It is what they do after they raid everyone that is offline. Which they do not understand is not actually PVP.
PvE may be worth it on unofficial servers. I joined one a while back and the community was nice and fair but unfortunately it'll never be like a couple years back. Most unofficial servers have farmhouses enabled as well and I think they ruin the game and point of having animals bred for farming in the first place. It sucks. Couple years back it was possible to manually create a trading empire and it was better because you spoke with people personally and created bonds instead of this automated market
- You build Thatch, Wood, Stone, whatever suits your aesthetics. Plus, wild animals CAN and DO attack your structures, and DO cause damage... most to Thatch, less to Wood, even less/none to Stone.
- Tames CAN and DO die to wild animal attacks. Breeding will give you better tames that die less readily.
- Coexistence, not denial.
- What you consider end-game is entirely up to you.
- Gold still helps! As do blueprints.
and if i understand the unlock function you can set it up to work with others on island not part of your corp so on. thus can go hey every one on such such island lets all board the battle bus and go after treasure maps.
Or I should say offline raiding simulation since that's mostly what everyone does. Its Basically PvE since no ones around to stop you.
PvP is pretty much dead again since most players are now quitting after being offline raided into oblivion and PvE is going strong as usual. Devs should probably pay attention PvE is what carries your game after all the toxic kids quit. And yet you ignore PvE and focus on your toxic few.
