map/portal system

heyo,

used to play this back a few years ago, but after they implemented the portal/confusing map system it was a deal breaker and I walked away from it. I used to enjoy navigating the grids on public servers, sightseeing, and trading goods, as if it were an actual map, and with this change it made it massively unenjoyable for me. Not to mention the portals are eyesores. so much that i had to walk away.

i check back in every so often to see if they give us the option to revert to the old system on private servers, if theres a mod that reimplements the old system, or anything of the sort.

Private servers have always been able to create and use their own maps. They only need to use regions and portals if they choose to do so, it's never been a requirement.

Ah I see. The people that ran the servers I enjoyed claimed otherwise.

I have been away for a while . You say trading goods how ? can you sell stuff then ? How is it done i see a freighter boat but can t see how to sell stuff ? i just float around collecting floatsom and making little bases shooting pirates .

Usually trading rare resources for other rare resources. There is a way to set up shops. And sell and buy tames in return for resources/blueprints etc.
