Where can I find copper?

Been searching the web and all I can find is copper in just stone rocks. I need pure copper for the forge or even any other type of pure node metal, except for actual metal since it can't be used in forge.

Find it on tropical islands, little rocks between grass and fiber, hard to see.

Copper is from desert & tropical islands.

In the forge you can use any type of metal (my base in a temperate biome so I use silver + gems to make ingots/alloys)

You can usually find "fields" of metal nodes, but they are often harvested so hard to know where the metal actually spawns.

All I see on all these tropical islands so far is limestone/stone rocks. Only way for us to get copper is from the stone rocks that give stone, flint, copper. This sucks, was hoping to find pure copper nodes down here. ugh
