Making ice
I know that making ice in an ice box now requires the ice box to be above water and in a tundra or polar region, but it seems when I sail out to my ice box, there's no ice in it, even when it shows a rate of ice making. Does anyone know if you have to have a player near the ice box for it to actually make ice? Is it a vicinity issue? I have my player camped out at the ice box now, and it is indeed making ice, but when I got to the island initially, the ice box was empty. I also changed my nights to be longer hoping it will give more time for a faster rate, but making ice at all seems to be related to a player's vicinity. I have my fort built on an equatorial island, and make sailing runs to the tundra island only to find the ice box empty. While I'm at the tundra island though, it makes ice. Anyone else notice this? Btw, I play on my own private Blackwood server.

It only produces ice when below 0c if its at 0c or 1c it will not produce

tbh it should produce when your online and next to it
its possible if your on SP which is what is sounds that there is some issue because you are not in the same grid as the box so that server is on stasis/pause

No, the Blackwood server is not SP. So it must just not be getting cold enough on the tundra island. It's funny that it makes ice while I'm actually by the ice box, but when I'm not on the island and sail to it, it's empty.

The box need to be rendered to produce ice :/

Yup. It makes ice when I'm there. It seems to only make ice when I'm on that island where the box is. If I'm on another island and come back to it, it's empty.

Yup, it not "really" a bug but intended.
It's for performance :)

It decays quickly and if your box is ACTIVATED its consuming ice to cooldown the area around so make sure its not turned on and eating the ice

Yeah, when you are not around the area the area goes into stasis, including your icebox?

That seems to be what I'm getting. If I'm on the island it will make stacks of ice. However, if I'm not there on the island, it doesn't make any. The reason I know is, is because while I'm on the island with the icebox it will continue to make stacks, and there is no noticeable melting since it's making ice at a good rate. However, if I leave the island and come back in the next few days, it will be empty, which means its no longer making stacks and what's in there melts.

Yay!, I went to tundra island after several days of being off it, and the ice box was full of ice. It is working as intended I believe. Maybe I just went through several days of warm temps on the tundra island and it didn't make ice. I guess it's possible even on tundra. It's full of ice now. Awesome.
