Is Singleplayer worth it?

I heard bad stuff about official. And I don't know anyone to join a private server.

I am playing a Non dedicated on Ocean with a friend, Essentially single player open to have others join.

The few issue i have run in to are;-

Don't use a boat bed to respawn (Unless you relog after every new grid you travel too) chances are you will lock up your respawn and have to restart your game to rarely log back in to a new character in a different Company. Your old company is still their as well as your boat. You will just need to find it and force rejoin with Admin. Your stuff on your old character however might be lost. This is a rare occurrence but can Happen

Tames Magically VANISH sometimes from a boat while transitioning from one grid to another

Your Boat can appear on the Atlas at differtent location to where you are if you travel to many grids before logging. To fix just relog


Other then these few issues which are solvable and fixable i have had/have no issues

Single player was fine for me for a while, as well as a local hosted server. However it seems that they don't always update the map so you see these new things come out but you don't get to play them. Maybe it has changed, haven't played in month because of it. If they every make the proper updates i will play again.

Try "COASTAL GAMING" we joined that server 3 days ago and it has an amazing community with both pve and pvp sections of the map with everything from community events to trading market islands and it's crossplatform with Xbox and PC would highly recommend! they have very friendly admins and most importantly no admin abuse with an official discord and everything

i have made a small check on the Ocean Map in multiplayer but i hasnt did to reach the starter island how in singleplayer. but it looks that the starter island in singleplayer are broken? i become a lot stupid ressources there and i dont become metal so how i can build something to leave this island now?

Goto the guy on the end of the dock at the freeport and use resources to get him to build you a ramshackle sloop, and use 5 gold at the guy in the shop that looks like a boat to sell you a single npc to man the sail of said Sloop. Now sail across the border into the next grid and profit you will have metal

sounds nice but... when i can find metal then... how i can become 5 gold? because i cant dig without a shouvel to get 5 gold and this test actually is the ramshackle the only way to leave this island. but it looks still that something is wrong with this map is this in this case right?

I was lucky enough to find a Treasure (Flotsam Wooden Box) washed up near the beach and it had a few coins
Anyway just get the sloop and control the sail and the wheel yourself and drive to a new grid and you will find metal. Just align the sail with the wind in a direction go full sail then jump back on the wheel and sail sail sail or use the raft. If i can do it and many others can so can you

so you say that im right with other words. i was only there to view the new content and i was suprised as i hasnt become metal. but there are on this island not really anything which give me the right ressources how it looks for me. so im not motivated to play this game so long this isnt fixed. my question was only to find out if im the only one with this problem or not.

You do not need metal to get a working boat and to get of the starter islands.

Really dude just get the boat sail of the first grid and most rocks will give a small amount of Metal others more, but nearly every 2nd rock will give some metal. JUST NOT IN THE FREEPORT (Starter islands have no metal and never will )

i dont know how long you play now ATLAS but you last part isnt right. i have before every farming there metal after my start so that i has crafted and builded my metal stuff. there are still the rocks with metal but she do not longer give metal how it looks and this looks not normal. and normaly i hasnt need to build a ramshackle because before you did it there to build a ship via your own shipyard if you have the needed gold.

My last part is right you can sail to get metal. Did you sail through a Blue wall into another grid by which a loading screen happened. I have only 620hrs in atlas and 150 of that is in the last few weeks on a non dedicated ocean playthrough.

I never found metal this playthrough in Freeport grid i had to travel to another grid. The shipright has always had the ability to build a ship.

How hard is it to use the Shipwright to make a Ramshackle sloop and sail to a more appropriate island and get metal and then make a small shipyard to get a normal sloop or schooner. IT IS ONLY A SMALL EXTRA STEP NO BIG DEAL. Easy to overcome.

They changed it since the last time i played and now to not have metal in freeports to make you leave freeport, i just dealt with it and done what i needed to do to get metal. What i needed to do was leave the First Grid.

first before it was possible to find metal there so you are totally wrong. second before it was possible to build ships there in the SINGLEPLAYER even after the patch came where you had to pay for the ships. now unfortunately this island looks like a failed experiment where nothing really brings in the right raw materials when you harvest them. on the starter islands in the SINGLEPLAYER there was previously one kind of wood, metal, fibers, quartz, various fruits, rice and other green stuff. now i even get straw from a beehive so is that supposed to be right? look at old lets plays then you will see for yourself that you are not right

I mean, I've heard both lol. It's boring on single player, but official sucks cause there's no where to have a base at. And you'd have to be friends with people to join a private server, so it sounds like both are a gamble. It sounds like this whole game is a gamble
