The amount of laziness on this is incredible, resources are placed around with zero thought at all, just randomly placed with no meaning. Red flowers give straw?? Normal fiber bushes give blackberrys and tumeric?? Every tree no matter what model gives agedwood and bark?? ♥♥♥♥ me at least put in some effort and use the models you have already created for the correct resource, absolute disgrace.

well wood depends on the island and most resources have generic model on the map that gives out a resource.

I love Ark and Atlas but their common issue is their mapper, yeah it looks like laziness for me too, some animal spawns under the map or inside mountains they never fixed it in Ark and they copying the same great work into Atlas, the same comes with resource spawns... double or triple trees inside one tree, they amount of meshes placed in some places is just pure laziness. I wish somebody could push some love into the map and resource spawns etc.

There is no consistency with the ocean map either. A plant on one island can be berries but fiber on another. You can never know whats in a rock with a colored vain in it unless you check it. Sometime its a pure flint node, sometimes its a 50/50 rock/ flint node. I found an island in N1, The Durkest Chain. On one side of the island, the black nobby rock node has crystal in it like most islands in that biome but on the other side of the same island its nitrate. Resources in atlas just plan suck all around.

I don't know why you guys are shocked, this map is not created by grapeshot. its a creation by the same guy that did valguero from what i heard. So its not new content ist just existing content with a twist.

Regardless, as Trouser Jake pointed out, the 'oddity' of the resources really isn't odd, it's not really different than regular Atlas.

The person who did the Blackwood map is the same one who did one of the Ark usermade maps. Crystal isles, oh yes.. Thats the map she modded . lol

I do think she used copy paste to spread out the foliage to make sure that the 1 grid had all the resources on it.. and she was prolly on a time crunch (unlike she when she was doing her own player made map where she could work on it a year and still not be done :P) I dont mind at all as long as I can find all the needed resources to do my do, in the end.

I found the lil farm in the swamp on the freeport in that town she laid out.. was very happy to see it and harvest it and it had what, it looked like it had. yay

On the Freeport Isle I have not been able to find a single metal node at all either. There is stone which you can get small amounts of metal from but it has been slow going.

hrmm, dont remember if I found actual metal there or not, did find salt and crystal though and many things needed in daily life. Anyone notice metal nodes there? if they are they will look like rocks.. not shinies. Off to play some more Blackwoods, got me currious now lol

Free port always gives generic resources, you gotta explore out of that region to get the correct resources from a source.

Blackwood it does not, Blackwood it gives you several of them. Blackwood freeport has Copper and Iron when breaking normal rocks..
Found TIN nodes on the very south W edge of the Freeport island just now most southern edge of island, looks like is straight edge.. they are small darkmuddy/rusty colored rocks.
