Tether distance in new non dedicated mode?
I have been holding off playing this game with my friends until they had something like the new non dedicated multiplayer mode. Is there tether distance and how long is it?

Have you and your friends go into your options. All of you go down to tethering slider. DO NOT use the slider. Type in 99 and then enter. No tethering. You're welcome.

You are welcome. I really hope it helps frustrations, :) Works in Ark too btw. That's where I figured it out.

bear in mind that's still in the same zone, only the host can change grids and everyone comes with him.

now how does that work does all of them pop onto ship when jump grid? like animals getting onto boat and crew? or does it say cant go through till every one is with you.

Hadn't tested, but pretty sure other players pop in next to the host, like they did in ARK caves.

Correct. So as long as you have long tether you can be in the same grid. But as stated if the host leaves the grid they rubber band to the host. It’s best if you plan to leave in a ship just have everyone on it avoid any glitches.

I wasn’t a fan of tether on Ark on one Island. But this hasn’t been issue for me so far. I also have a dedicated server but it’s not 15x15. I hope that becomes an option with one server.

Sorry for posting so long after this was opened, but I do not seem to be able to find this option.

It's under the General options tab (closer to the bottom than top) called: Non-Dedicated Host Tether Distance

This is nice and all, but does this still work?
