Report a translation problem
Just try not to say it from ARK. The example you mentioned is copy pasted from ARK which in ATLAS doesn't work, so everyone (including me) has already tried to paint with the brush and doesn't work freely but only if you check those 6 areas by default which doesn't let you to save the template. (in order to check the folder for the file format name like for the other paints in game)
I believe isn't yet implemented in ATLAS or something isn't working as intended and we need to wait or inform Devs (Official forum > Bug reports) about this. ;)
I gave up on the game tbh, but if I find time I can create a multi canvas template. Will post again if I do.
