Agreed
The only difference is i set up 2 traps one of each side of where two of us where building and we dealt with em. the cobras are easy to kite and facekill. I would be upset at how much death i endured yesterday and being attacked every 3 minutes, but i did go from like lvl 30 to lvl 51 so i guess I should thank the dumb amounts of alphas we took out.
and by the way..we killed them all using nothing but regular arrows.
lol
I'd actually hoped to see the combat be more swashbuckler, but instead of fighting a good battle back and forth with parries and the occasional pistol shot we got... what we got.
And yes, animals are very overtuned. You basically find ways to use the terrain or buildings to kill them for the quick animals. The others you kite or do the same advantages stuff.
Wouldn't you rather be able to actually some how defend yourself in the field instead of constantly kiting and trapping? I do the same thing. Its repetitive. Not exactly fun. Traps are built everywhere. Server performance deteriorates. People lose their tames, etc. The game is supposed to be about the experience.
I agree with K1oud7, sorry to say fire arrows first nerf was good, second nerf was overkill, for environment at least. They should cause some good damage, they should adjust the material cost or be super effective against certain armors or animals. Especially since the new stone structure recipe. Its pretty much just a waste of paste and makes the arrows completely obsolete.
In response I'd say you shouldn't need to use points on a skill to wear or use certain equipment. Its like taming and riding, why waste points to tame when all you want to do is ride? Why waste points to craft when all you want to do is equip something someone else crafted? Where's the sense in players having roles within a company?
The way it is set up now just punishes players by making them spend points that really shouldn't need to be. Devs need to really think about how they handle game progression and tweak it accordingly. Most people play ARK unofficial modded because the experience is better, and thats because of stuff like this.
They don't fix it, people leave. Game funding flops. It's as simple as that.
Alpha Creature damage has been reduced by 50%
- Alpha Creature resistance has been reduced by 50%
- Alpha Creatures are now 25% less common
I spent a few hours in tundra last night and now i have an army of bears that can each solo smash alphas. so i guess all is good.
Shoulda seen the lower deck of my brig. i had 7bears all lvl 23-29 pre tame, and i gave away 3 to my company so i still have quite the army of bears.
