Questions about monkey poop

I know you have to enable turret mode in their AI but i've only seen him attack once and it was after i died with him on me.

1: Do they attack while on your shoulder or only when on the ground?

I've had him on my shoulder and attacked something, never seen him join in. (turret on, atk your trgt)

2: Does the melee stat affect their ranged attack since i don't think they do melee?

My wife has a monkey that she carries and it throws poop anytime she is fighting something. Not sure what her settings are. But I’ll check when I get home and post back if someone hasn’t answered by then.

Thanks, it's possible i just miss the animation, or that the firerate is slow enough for me to miss it while i'm kiting the 3 snakes that just aggroed me. lol
