Claim limit per person
I think you guys need to implement a claim limit per person, its almost impossible to find a spot to claim on an island, and in 1 or 2 months i can see it being a game killing issue, Please address this, before you lose a lot of players.

just take the claim. if someone is not in the area you can claim it in time. its not hard.
alot of people use them as sort of an alarm.

2--3 claims per tribe on 1 select island should be the limit. That's PLENTY of room even for a large company.

Yes needs to be fixed but Lawless waters are the best islands and not claimable.

Something needs to be done. I have spent two days just looking for a place for a shipyard, without luck. How about allowing players who have built the boats they need to rent out their shipyard? I'd be perfectly willing to pay double materials to use someone elses shipyard as a tax.

Homie, if you are just looking to place a shipyard, just break someone elses. 3-4 guys can break even the largest ship yard with hatchets in like 25-30 mins

If that is the solution we have a prolem sounds uterly boring
And you will never be able to stay there for 30 minutes with out something eating you.

Most animals cant get ontop of the large docks, if its a tiny dock, you can hatchet that down in like 5 minutes solo. The dock problem will always be a problem. There are just so many people and so little starter islands so many people will have docks on them. Finding a claim is hard, destroying a dock to put your own dock to get off a starter island isn't.

"its almost impossible to find a spot to claim on an island"

This is not correct; 100% false, honestly.

What you cannot find is an unclaimed or open place to claim on an island. The place is littered with claimable locations; someone just beat you to them.

So, you can counter-claim unused space (game mechanic), you can join someone else that has area claimed, or you can ask nicely to see if someone will part with land.

This isn't the first-come, first-claimed game, this is Atlas, an MMO about pirates carving out a life, not having it served to them gently.

I am not a PVP player, but the ability to take and defend claims really adds depth to the game (as long as you don't spend all your time defending; not fun).

This being said, I do agree that unlimited claims is silly. 2-3 per person, allotted to the company pool sounds good to me. Big companies, more land. Makes sense. But the claim spam I've seen does need to be curtailed.

The point is, you cannot contest land. 90% of islands are owned by mega tribes, or a gigantic alliance, so as soon as you hit shore you get bum rushed by 20 people, and you CANNOT contest the land, then they move on to your ship and destroy your beds.

You cant contest land against 30+ people. You cannot play this game in a small group, this game will have lost half its player base if not more, in less than 1 more month if its not fixed.

Even if you claim land, how do you expect to protect it?
The same problem with claiming also applies to defending.
How can a solo or small company expect to survive against the megas?
You can't.
So either join them or maybe try your hand at PVE? Where you can actually build and have fun?

You can play ark just fine in small groups, and ive already seen groups of 5-10 defend against 20+ people, so its definitely possible if you arent utter trash.

Stop having this mind set, its actual cancer. You should NOT have to play in 100+ groups to have fun and experience this game. Balance it for all styles of play, or it WILL die.
And building is not fun, if you are not PVPING in a pirate game. lol

And protecting land is way easier than claiming it. If one person contests the claim the timer stops and goes up like 2 minutes. If they just keep coming back you will NEVER get the land. There is a reason chinese just run around and raid but they don't actually steal all the land they raid.

1 Claim per Person would be best. Big groups/clans will have the ability to claim a island but a solo person can't claim a facking island. At the moment pve server is unplayable cause you can't anything (everywhere is already a claim and they only need to walk through it all 3 days?!? Didn't the devs think about this ♥♥♥♥? 1 person easy claim an island in a game with 700 islands and 40k Player a world ? Good job -.-

This is a intended feature to Atlas expressed by one of the devs at the Game Awards. They want players have the ability to conquer the whole map and engage in diplomacy. This favors mega-companies to be formed to pretty much claim everything and set up a goverment.
Players who are new or can't own land will have to pay taxes to the alpha-company in order to live on their land.
So, if you want land for yourself you'll have to wait till the mega-company that owns it geats bored and leaves th game. Basically this game forwns upon solo and small company players.
