How do you use a cart?

I tamed some horses, made a cart, put it on the horse, and nothing happened other then the cart being there. I tried putting storage boxes on it. Did not work. So How do they work?

I don't know specifics however, Saw someone have a bear out, put saddle on bear then opened its inventory and suddenly the bear was rigged with a cart that had a driver and at lest one passenger seat (guess it was a buggy) Have seen someone else have a bear pulling a cart with cannon as well.. So maybe you have to have saddle first?

It was on a stream and it wasnt the person streaming that did it but, someone else who was delivering the bear and buggy to them.

I have the cart saddle, but it on a horse. The small cart showed up but I could not interact with it. The carriage worked just fine. Does the small cart have to be on a bear? Seems silly if it does, horses can pull carts too.

it seems that all the cart does is provide a mount point for a cannon, doesnt provide a platform for building or increase storage at all.

Horse is the only thing I've been able to put the cargo saddle on... -shrug-

You may place things like water barrels on them and canon as well, possibly other things but it doesn't make them weigh less.
