Claiming land
Is there another type of island that isnt Freeport or lawless because no matter where I go I cant claim any land

I'd like to know whats happening with this, there were so many land claims I couldn't find an inch of coastline, and now it's back to 'lawless' so you can't place any.

Yes, most of the grids where you cannot set home region are neither Freeport nor Lawless and have claimable land. However, most of it is claimed already and you will have to try to contest. Look from claims that look like they are not being used, where someone just dropped the flag and moved on.

The zones with white outlines on the map are starter zones. There are many more "free" zones where you can claim and build. I didn't know this either yesterday. There are maps online showing all the zones.

Can you link to these maps because I can't find ♥♥♥♥ to claim or know which ones are available. It's so unintuative.

You can't spawn in any zones and claim, you have to sail to them. its the ones in between the ones you can choose to spawn. Not that this helps, I've sailed 20 islands now and there is NO SPACE.

They just need to wipe the claims or servers, limit claims to 1 per person or If in a company 1-2 per company, scalled on numbers. Also claims could be tied to a skill tree to allow for more claims to be put down by the company leader or officers, not a member.

Stupid how companies can just bed near claims and fast travel to them to stop them being claimed and on PVE you can not do anything to take their claims since they have a player in the zone.

Yes 1 claim would be good for now, so at least everyone can at least make a start. or, make the area much smaller. I still couldn't claim after finding a fairly large area, it said I was too close. Tried lots of contesting but its never worked yet. takes 10 hours.

yeah, at this point you can safely say no land can be claimed unless you travel to the tundra. I've spent near 40hrs searching.
