Map in game greyed out?

Is there a fix to this? When i press M i don't see any island or anything, everything is just greyed out!

Its a fog of war so you have to reveal it. The devs wanted to pretend they hadn't already released the game map, I guess.

But yesterday the map was working just fine for me and my fellow pirates..

Ahh.. Mine has always been like that but it is remembering the bits I've uncovered without issues.
