Connection Timeout/Failed to connect to host error screen.
On day one I was able to connect "just fine" although I was still met with the six second freezes and rubberbanding that everyone else had to deal with on D4. Go to bed out of frustration and wake up the next day to patch 4.0. Try to log to see if anything has changed and what do you know, I can't even connect. Ever since I've been met with the same thing every time. It will attempt to join a server, pop up a host timeout message for a brief moment and then throw me into a loading screen. Fifteen seconds later my monitor will flash black momentarily and I'll be met with the same host timeout error. This happens for every individual tile I try to join on every official server I've attempted. Oddly enough it actually seems to be happening to differerent people as the patches role out, my friend just started having the same issue this morning despite being able to play just fine the night before, as well as about twenty other people who have experienced the same thing right about the time it happened to me. So far, the only thing tying it all together that we can think of is one file that fails to validate every time we attempt it, even after hard reinstalls; as well as every person being affected running the game off of a HDD with 12GB of RAM or less.

If anyone has experienced simillar issues, I would much appreiciate your contrabutions below. I'd very much enjoy being able to play with the mid-sized group I've been in talks with for the last three delays up until launch.

Thank you.

Edit: I also factory reset my PC last night due to unrelated issues and that solved nothing. I was at least hoping maybe something running in the background was conflicting and being on a clean slate would change that. Don't bother trying it.

If u read forum b4 posting you will see many many many people with pretty much the same problem shame it doesnt tell you which file fails to validate

I have read the forums and I see that I'm not alone in this. This post is to ask people with that issue if they're experiencing the same validation error and how much RAM they have, to see if it's consistent with what we've (my group) have been dealing with.

Same with me, 8 gb ram. Before patch 6 i can log in without problem. But now, no luck. Trying all day still cant log in into official server. I can connect to unofficial server though.

I haven't attempted any unofficial servers so far. I didn't think any would have openings, assuming people actually had any up at all.

I appreciate the reply.

Edit: When exactly did you begin having this issue? Becasue if it was sometime after patch 4.0, we know it isnt a RAM issue because I haven't been able to connect since that despite having more RAM than you. If you were able to play then but not me than it can't be a RAM issue.

Same here on NA pvp or NA pve i get a connection timeout for 2 days now. Happened when patch 4.0 hit.
I have EXACTLY the same issues like you.

i have a gtx 970 8gb ram and a decent i5.
I think it has something to do with the Snapshot_16 data the game try's to load.
It is so disapointing at this moment...
Im pretty helpless at the moment, because there is no fix in sight.
I think it is not to much asked for if we just want to finally connect to a server.

All land has been claimed, people drive around with big ships and people with our issue (and there are many of them when i read the twitter comments) are not even able to connect to a server.
Even when i have the chance to play with a big tribe, i feel like that is not fair to the rest of the players.
When the connection issues are fixed players have to handle a problem that is even bigger.

This game will start at the exact point where ark ended. Big tribes claim all the land and you can watch how you dodge the defense lines when you try to farm at the start.

They have to wipe the servers again, or i dont see a chance for the majority of the players that are already willing to play and purchased the game but aren't able to play after several days.

I still hope there is a fix comming soon!

Best regards

EDIT:
I also have these problems since 4.0

When patch around 4-5 its working fine for me. I can change server at any time. But today when i try to log in at the first time it did working. But my char was in EU PVP H13 which is not listed again today so i try to change home region (when you died theres option to change home region) to be able play with my friends. Since then i cant log in at all.

Tried deleting :\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved and direct connect to server still doesnt work for me.

Try this fix by Tony Macaroni...

Go to Steam - open 2nd tab (mine is in dutch) select servers from list.
Then go History or Favourites.
Select the server where your char was last present and then press connect.

(History showed nothing but Favourites did, in my case)

This worked for me! At first attempt it didn't, but when I tried again I sorted the games into alphabetical order, to group all the Atlas ones together, to tidy up the list. I saw there were about 15 IP addresses with a "not responding" tag although it didn't say what game they were. I Removed them and was able to log in whan I tried again.
ok now it could be a little critical with my english...

Let me try it like this:
A friend of mine tried now to give some space for the my RAM on my SSD (in german it is "Auslagerungsdatei")
It seems that especially people with 8gb RAM or less face this problem he guessed.

I now reinstall the game once more (just incase) and will try again then.

If it works i will let you guys know.

EDIT:
No success so far...
I ran out of ideas! Dont have new attempts to fix it

hopefully some brainiac here ca solve our problem.
I am pretty frustrated with this game right now

Ok guys i have finally found a solution for myself!

I gave a friend my Steam Account and he logged on from his computer. He started the game and could connect immediately to the server.
After that i logged back in and gave it a try.
I had a terrible long loading screen (so dont quit the game at this point it looks like it is frozen)
after about 5 to 10 minutes of loading i got the old error message again.
I tried one more time and made it to the server for 2 seconds and got the error again.:steamsalty:

3rd try i managed to connect to the server without any loading time at all. :steamhappy:
It seems that the character is stuck in the login que somehow
I hope you guys have the chance that a friend does you a favor and logs in for you.

Good luck to all and Best regards
