Getting metal?

How do i get metal? I now some rocks give metals such as iron etc, but i get 1 piece every like 60 rocks or whatever. I managed to get 5 pieces and made myself a metal pickaxe, but it didnt improve the loot. Are there any actual metal nodes in the game?

yes, on the jungle islands those are small dark brown stones with some light brown/golden spots.

those rocks have 50-80 metal and are easy to see after you spotted the first....

Ehhh, didnt come across even one of those. But thanks anyway! :) Guess ill just farm 1 by 1...

Some are very blue rocks aswell. Pretty small.

O6, big island, if I remember correctly. Run past some massive hoards of giraffes on the south side and up to the top (kinda). Small blue/greenish rocks.

Yeah, im still stuck on a starter island, therefore i really need to grind that metal xD

I just found two metal rocks before the server went down for the patch just now. It's a Freeport Island. F4, but didn't notice the name. I got 89 metal off the two nodes and, not far off, 42 crystal. The metal nodes looked like burnt cinder toffee in texture and colour. I photographed the map just so I can find them again.

I can't do anything with my phat lewt as this character is only lvl 2. :D I am so overloaded I am just about at a snail's pace. I might try bartering it in exchange for finished metal tools.

in freeport they are by the cliffs on backside of island theres 3-4 nodes there.

Ohh! Just found one! On the opposite side from where i live. Just 1 node, but better than nothing lol. Thanks everyone! :)

I would honestly hit everything at least once to see what resources are in game. Farmed a bunch of grey rocks for a few metal to make smithy and tools then I found an island with white rocks with blue/green veins that gave 30-40 iron each. Score!

Also; Hold down H when looking at a rock or any other resource and it will tell you what it gives. :-)

Copper also counts as metal (you get around 1 per rock)

On the freeport islands its a green rock and there is a lot of them.

I found copper nodes. It was a blueish rock, clearly different from the rest if rocks
