Forge how to use it?

we built a forge but cannot smelt anything. in ark it was wood and metal. how do i smelt things? thx

Same question i have the materials to make alloy and it says I can make 17 yet its grayed out ?

make sure it's turned on like the fire

You need to have the Metalurgy trait, there will be a section of "Craftable" items, make sure you have the required resources, and begin your crafts by lighting a fire and selecting craft on the ones you want.
