So now we know it isn't a real MMO
You lose all your items when you die so no real character progression. The description says ''MMO-scale character progression systems'' and ''Pirate PVP to the Limit'' I don't really see proper PvP when you have to start from scratch after dying. Also there can't be real character progression, imagine you play hundres of hours to get proper gear to lose it all when you die. Just another survival game, dunno if it's worth the 20€ maybe for the trolling. :D

yeah this is nowhere close to an mmo, lol.

Lol you have never played a sandbox mmo.

Well it's one way to curb the throwaway griefer style "pvp" style of play that plagues these sort of games. I think it's a good thing. If you have invested time in something that you could actually lose. You're less likely to just be a knob about it

Wait?
Are we talking about
MMO - Massive Multiplayer Online (Which starts at around 100 ppl because that is massive as few if it sounds)

ore are we talking about MMORPG which is not advertised at all?

Also Pirate PvP to the limit you keep your level but lose everything when die? join a crew get a new weapon and up you go.. what is more pirate like than loosing everything upon death? I like it and of course you can not like it if you want.

Kind of like eve online. Never undock in something you cant afford to lose. Risk vs Reward. Creates some very special moments and suspense, BUT I do see your point through the lens of traditional MMO play/grind

I cant remember the last sandbox MMO that came out, Ultima Online? because thats the only game in the OG days that had you lose everything when you died if you didnt get back to your own body on time...also build anywhere within the zone limits

Character progression is also about level and skills and territory. Not only about the items you're carrying on the moment of your death.
Rooyan Dec 22, 2018 @ 7:46am
Yeah its a MMO not an MMORPG
🐺Blue Wolf Dec 22, 2018 @ 7:46am
It's a performance dlc for Ark. Ark wasn't an MMO either
Jerry Dec 22, 2018 @ 7:46am
It's more survival then MMO. But it does have MMO-like qualities as well as the number of people on a server.
badger vortex Dec 22, 2018 @ 7:46am
You do not lose your attribute/skill points when you die, same as ARK you can lose all your material possessions though. Learning higher level skills will take many many hours on official servers, but also make it easier/quicker to regain your losses on death.

It's called FULL LOOT. Don't talk about MMO games if you are a newbie who never played an old school MMO.

I think you might be thinking of MMORPGs or something else. But the term "MMO" just means "Massively Multiplayer Online" that just means it is many players on one server. All MMOs are nothing alike, I would compare this to Life is Feudal MMO. Not in the sense that it is a bad game or has a low player base or is anything alike to it. But the fact that it all is done on one major server, with many thousand players and you do lose all of your stuff when you die.
