How do you link your xbox account to the steam one?

I originally got the game on release on pc and it was awful, massive mess, refunded it.
On friday a mate convinced me to get it on xbox and I have been hooked all week end. Hearing its cross play compatible I have re-purchased on the pc. But I can not see how you link the game to your xbox account?
With ark it was done automatically (though it was on windows store on the pc to crossplay, this time you have to have the steam version)

I promise you cross play is on that server, I was talking to pc gamers while on the xbox. They did the same with ark, though as i say ark used windows store and it just worked.

I just need to know how I log in as my xbox survivor? "you dont! is not a good answer as there has to be a way it is crossplay (https://www.playatlas.com/index.php?/atlas-news/news/xbox-and-pc-crossplay-is-now-live-r216/)

YOU DON'T

It's not crossplay but crossplatform.

Atlas doesn't require you to have an atlas account to play it, so it can't offer crossplay like Destiny 2 does.

The reason Ark did it was because Microsoft owns Xbox, so your Xbox account could be used on both PC and Xbox to play. Weird how there was a shared account for crossplay eh?

Atlas is out on xbox, thats what I mean, did you not read the article I linked to?
I did talk to people who were playing on pc (they thought I was mad for playing it with a controller lol, tbh ark plays better with a pad on the xbox anyway atlas plays really well on the xbox x too)
I have a beefy pc though so do want to play on that when I am in the mood to play at a table andon xbox when I want to sofa game

Windows = Microsoft = Xbox = shared accounts...

In this games case you can play on pc with someone else on xbox. You can not use the same account (shared accounts) on both devices. You can however have two different avatars (one on xbox and one on the pc) and have them on the same server and put them in the same company.
You just have to play the one that fits the desk or the sofa.
