[SOLVED] How to remove Ships of the Damned
Searching around, I only need to add this to my Game.ini:

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="ShipNPC_Brig_C",ToClassName="")

...to remove the Ships of the Damned, but it's not working for me. Maybe they changed the BP name? Does anyone have a working method from removing them from the game? I wouldn't mind a few, but I'm getting pretty sick of four groups of 5-7 ships everywhere I turn. Not to mention, they break the aesthetic of the game. They could have at least made them look like pirate ships.

Ok, guess that wasn't too hard to figure out. I realized it was working, but only for the brigs. Makes sense, since that's the only replacement code people have been using. So I took a stab at the others and it worked. For anyone else who's interested, here's how you remove all of the Ships of the Damned:

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="ShipNPC_Sloop_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="ShipNPC_Schooner_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="ShipNPC_Brig_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="ShipNPC_Galleon_C",ToClassName="")

I googled around for those other NPC codes and found nothing. Doesn't say a lot for the player count of this game, that nobody else has posted these before. But I've actually been having fun with the game, now that they finally added single player. Let's me play the game how I want. They should have maybe waited until this summer to release it, since it finally feels like it's where Ark was when that was released.

If you're yanking SODs already, are you going to be in for a surprise when WPE drop.
Maltheus Aug 10, 2019 @ 10:15am
Yeah, they'll probably overdo WPE too, and we'll have to bring an army, every time we want to gather some stinking fiber. And since they won't give us any multipliers, to let us tweak how much of it we want, I'll probably be yanking them as well.

SOTD would be great, if they'd just spawn one (or two at most) at a time, less frequently, and you know, look like actual pirates, with marked sails, instead of some kind of neon clump of clay.

If you do not have Sotd, you will not be able to get blueprints to upgrade your ships and cannons, unless you use cheats for that as well.. If you are using cheats to upgrade your ships, a mythical upgraded ship and cannons can slice through Sotd.. do you get where I am going here. lol
Been playing since jan and not once have lost a ship to SoTd or a storm, have had a handful of those, crossing border to run into a group though, can see where if someone was lagging hard when loading, they could get sunk but, they are easy to avoid, outrun once you learn how to sail with crew on your sails :) I fight them all the time now and even in storms, I like the feel of going in for the kill while circling a cyclone to do it. lol <- mostly mid grade upgraded brig with a few mythical parts on it, atm. Need a couple of good cannons and another good handling bp though, darn things wont drop.. got tons of planks and gunports lol

I can always add them back, when I'm looking for a fight. Although, after spending the morning farming yeti, and seeing the mythos costs of some of these blueprints, I likely will be cheating in some of that as well. I'm figuring I'll spawn in 9 mythos, for every 1 I farm. Seems more reasonable.

I'm a long-time veteran of Ark, so I know how masochistic the devs can be, and I do what I have to do to make the game enjoyable. Still, I wish they exposed more of the configurability, so that I'd never have to cheat. The Ark/Atlas devs make a great base game. But they're absolutely hopeless, when it comes to balancing those games. Especially when it comes to solo play.

Hey, thank you for finding these codes :) Any clue on how to disable or downlevel the army of the damned spawning when you find treasure?

Start Atlas and enter DestroyWildDinos once in the command line to re-spawn all npcs and damened ships.
