Single Player army of the damned unkillable?
They seem to be unkillable in single player. They take zero damage even with knowledge of the old ones maxed out. Anyone else getting this issue?

Damage source? I've seen others post that they can't seem to damage them with firearms, but melee weapons work fine. I've only killed them with tames and had no problem slaughtering them as of yesterday.

Crossbow and throwing knives. Back in the multiplayer I'd demolish them with throwing knives. If they changed that to projectile immunity, that is actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

They have nerfed range against them, too many were cheesing them with ranged.

Tames like Cat or Bear (for normal tames) Melee weapons and some use nades for an opener. IF you have enough health and armor.. you can punch the lower level ones to death :P

Bear is a beast against them. Lion is also nice, because you can grab those pesky hammer guys and laugh while they're a helpless chew toy. :D

They went beyond nerfing and made them full on immune. Lvl 25 common map, and not even a single bit of damage. If they're gonna make them melee only, they shouldn't have crossbowman with such good accuracy. Just ridiculous. Gotta learn taming now.

Are the crossbow men immune or just the melee guys? I dont know, I just bear crunch them. Did know at one point it was only the Hammer guys that ranged didnt work on.

You should learn taming anyway. Every shoulder pet has a utility benefit; crow crafting boost, parrot fortitude, monkey healing, vulture refrigerators, etc. Bigger tames also have their utility uses for harvesting certain items and/or weight reduction or their combat uses. For example cow milk is useful in that it adds vitamin D without filling hunger, instead filling hydration.

Edit: Besides, what stereotypical pirate captain doesn't have a parrot or monkey.

Yup, I tame the harvest beasts and a few of the important shoulder pets. I take the bear with me everywhere and when I am going for a resource run I usually take bear/elphant and sometimes giraffe, Use parrot for travel to help with the weather and a crow on my shoulder when I craft.
Monkey can be useful but, just dont bother. lol

I spec into taming but I never actually tamed an animal (always had animal specialists in my company while I focused on music, cooking, throwing knivesc captaineering and piracy). I can ride

i start to play since a short time , i try to kill one group of this damned guy near a chest, but after use my bow i see they are immune to arrow, i change skill with the button at all level to change all my point (remove tam skill) and up a lot firearm, i see i need a lot of amno to kill just one... and i can't change skill now before level up an otehr time to try to tam, but for taming, actually i fail everytime. (before see this damned guy, i try to tame with the abilitie to tame max, but fail always and after the first change skill because this guy are immune to bow, i don't have this skill now to tame....)

start breeding some good bears cuz you don't want to do the big boy maps by hand or with weak tames.

my group did a quality 60 mythic map and it spawned a massive wave of lvl 255 undead. we took a good beating with 5 mounted players on lvl 90-100 bears. all our bears had atleast 1k health and about 220-250melee.

If you are playing singleplayer, you can check the box to allow unlimited respecs; which can come in handy if you're not familiar with these games and what skills you would find most useful. Edit: and you can adjust so many other things to make SP better.

As for taming, you pretty much can't just approach the animal's head. Crouching and hugging against their belly and looking toward their head and moving just close enough to get the feed message seems to work well. Make sure to watch the bola timer versus the feed timer and get yourself safe and ready to repeat the process. You'll want to trap them as well, to protect you and them during the process.

I'll always suggest not being reluctant to doing some research; learning about the game, critters, and what other people have already figured out that works.

Bring back the bow!!!! #savethebows!!!!!!!!

All weapons should work against them you shouldn't HAVE to use a pet not everyone wants to tame (plus the taming system is stupid at the moment, dont get me started on that one!) , silly that you cant use a bow , system needs rethinking
