Is there a guide anywhere? For begginers and for harder difficulties?
Is there anywhere to find a guide?

I've discovered units have a 'personal' trait that only effects them. Golems do not level up. Horse archers gain *something?* from kills. Etc. I'm not sure what the training dummies really do, everyone attacks them, someone *may* get a level and then its gone. A tutorial would be helpful. Also directing units individually is clunky and difficult. Is there any kind of hotkey system? Previous threads seem to indicate there is not but heres hoping.

I can blast through normal difficulty on any size map with any character. Hard difficulty I've been sitting back and waiting just to get pwned when the AI starts raiding. Extreme difficulty I can take maybe 3 circles and lose everytime with my small 500 strength army. Usually extreme I'm just praying for enough food, gold or wood will come through for another unit before the raiding starts. Harder difficulties I've used the either the 3 healers or the walls/golem character- just for defensive play to try and get an army that can hold their own line.

All this said, still very entertaining. I recruited my first dragon on a normal difficulty XL map today :)!

Horse archers give resources when they kill a unit like the goblin unit which you can get via camps. Training dummies give exp for the unit/s hitting it. It's better saving these for strong units like the vampire or other high teir units that need exp. There is no hotkey system that I've noticed in the game so far, im usually just running them into the area unless I'm sniping buildings that produce units.

I've experienced impossible difficulty a few times. It is slightly challanging but not impossible. Most of the time I spawn near another circle that has either pumpkin, fish or berry bushes. I will priortize in claiming that first with a handful of archers. As long as there is a wall to protect archers, especially if most of the enemy is melee units. I'll leave the archers to snipe out the zone and keep repairing the walls until I'm ready to claim it. I also play the leader that starts off with 400 food, 3 workers and a bank. Because getting early gold income helps a lot, means I get that healer out quicker than usual.

Once I have that to get access to another food source without wasting wood. I start getting swordsmen and archers when needed and pick another easy target. After I've claimed around 3-5 circles I start massing horse archers simply because the resource ratio can be so good, especially against elites and buildings. By the time I get horse archers I'd have around 5-8 sharpshooters (maxed level archers) which will be my main damage until my horse archers get maxed.

And that's basically how I clear every impossible map. If the enemies have insanely strong units build a wall and upgrade it and allow your horse archers to murder them. Always priortize enemy units like Wizard, Necro and dragon that has AoE attacks. You can add other units into the comp, I simply use the horse archers alone to obtain more resources as I'm killing units, tho only around 7+ for the weakest units and up to 500+ for units like the dragon and sometimes buildings.

In this game playing defensive actually makes the game harder than being agressive imo, if you have a weak monster territory and have walls and a handful of archers. You should get that to get access to the resources on that circle.

After playing a bit more I've been able to pass hard even on XL maps. Horse archers is indeed what was the deciding factor. I also leave water tiles/circles when I find them as an 'unkillable' wall of sorts. As long as your tile is not water based they cannot attack and will slow or stop any attacks from that side.

I just checked and, sure enough, you can upgrade walls! Maybe that will help me in an extreme diff match.

Just use golems they snowball most circles around you and it comes with wooden wall perks that give you time (with you dont rly need golems are overpowered splash strong atack 1000 health and low cost )

Hi everyone :) Somebody has already been working on a wiki! You should be able to find and share more information about units etc there as well: https://circleempires.gamepedia.com/Circle_Empires_Wiki

Hey dev, thumbs up. Thanks for the link. Hope the wiki continues to grow as it does not have much in it right now. I also hope you add more features, maybe a buff/reward system for future playthroughs to keep folks interested after 50 wins at their current difficulty. Maybe some settings to control the biomes and ratios experianced (all land, all water, 50/50, all swamp, ALL PUMPKIN FIELDS WITH ALL PUMPKIN ENEMIES against YOUR PUMPKIN HERO?!)

All else, I've been playing a bit more. I can finish up total conquest hard maps using the each circle gets wall hero with horse archers. I leave ocean/sea tiles alone, as mentioned previously, to allow that side to remain unattacked forever. Once I get a large standing army I constantly add more workers, upgrades and horse archers to destroy anything left.

I dont bother with other units as much except for vampires. The golems are good but are too slow and cannot seem to take any tiles with towers/buildings as they get knocked back and never reach the tower itself. Mages, apprentice and dragons come too late in cost as, by the time you can afford them, you can just overwhelm everything with numbers.

I really liked the axeman character but throwing axes are too underpowered on harder difficulties even in mass. You have to have TONS but any ranged unit can be OP with TONS of numbers. Any characters that offer mer-people are a real challange without being able to be in an all water map.

If you want to unlock the reamining characters play on a 2x2 map (smallest) and go for a quick kill. If a tile is too strong, take the other three tiles, wait for the last enemy to attack you and flank them. This will give you a cheap win to unlock the characters.

Characters that have been working for me so far is the starts with a bank and gold piles, the walls every tile, the faster workers but turns them to pumpkins, +3 healers, and the last character- the dragon with +2 workers in every field which tends to start snowballing after 5-15 circles.

Hope all are enjoying the game.
