Best hook Bait, Spod and Throwing Stick baits for Wels Catfish?

Been using roach heads on size 2, spod mix and tiger nuts in Throwing Stick to mediocre results, but now I haven't caught one in over 2 hours. Anybody got a preferred setup? I'm saving up for 80lb lines, don't wanna test every single bait one by one just yet. Waldsee is the map.

I've had some success with link and whole roach deadbait. I'll go back in my catch file and see what else they like and get back to you.

Looked around and found I caught some pretty good-size Wels with Activ8 boilies and popups. If you don't already know, try fishing along banks with growth or grass and not necessarily deep water. If no bites in fifteen or twenty minutes, quit game and retry. I use a 13 ft. carp rod, 80 lb. braid line, and a #2 hook. Patience is the key for these fish it seems!
