Casting Bug
Ok seriously, whats the deal with not being able to cast more than 5ft. Like 1 out of 10 cast I will actually be able to cast. I couldnt really think of a much more annoying bug in a fishing game. I use basic casting (and its not switching me to total control. Checked that). I see reports of this issue going all the way back from fall of last year. All the player solutions I see are like "work-a-rounds" and they aren't consistent in their results.
I can manage it by just continuously canceling casts in free fishing until it decides to cast but its a total pain. Tourneys aren't even doable in this state.

It's not a bug buddy it's just that your probably doing it wrong. Seriously I can cast fine and so can everyone else. Just practice. This is the only fishing game that has anything like real casting in it, which is a big plus in my book.

Well as long as everything works in your little world I guess everything is just fine. Its basic casting. What is there to do wrong and what am I supposed to practice? You right click mouse then left click hold. Done.
What do you just troll fish in forums all day? What a useless human being. Get a job, get outta your moms basement and kindly go to hell. Move along.

Wow man that's a lot of vitriol, I'm pretty sure you weren't being trolled, perhaps a more relaxed approach would aid you in getting your question answered.

You haven't got the line clip on have you? That is the only thing I can think of that would produce the anomaly you describe. "T" key if you're not in a boat. Other than that I have never experienced the issue you describe in either casting mode.

Nah that dude just trolls all over the boards. Added nothing to solving the issue other than saying im the only one thats having the issue and Im doing it wrong. Theres many reports of the issue going back to 2018. No biggie. I emailed Dovetail. Hopefully hear something back this week.
It just doesnt seem to register the cast that often.

As Obsidian has said, it may be that your line clip has been set. This is done with the T key on the keyboard or Y on a controller. If the line clip has been set the distance would show a max distance eg. 45/65yds. Our customer support team will have a look at your ticket and see if they can help resolve the problem.
