The game should start in full screen. We have had reports of this not happening or being in fullscreen and then switching to windowed mode.

ALT-ENTER or F4 should force it back up to fullscreen but we suspect there is some other factor (3rd party software, multiple monitors, screen capture) but haven't been able to reproduce it on any machines we have direct access to. We are still investigating.

This happened to me just now. I started the game in full screen mode, then closed it via Steam (Stop button). When I started the game again, it was in windowed mode. Restart of steam did not fix the issue, ALT-ENTER did. Thanks for the tip, hope you can identify the issue.
