Armour Changes
So is armor repair cost and armor repair efficiency supposed to get worse the higher tech level the plating is?

It's not linear like that, no. It's dependent on the kind of armor - some high level armors, like Xentronium, are based around high HP and armor, but are bad at being repaird; then there are ones like the Ardonian armor, which isn't so good at HP but has a slight bonus to repair, and of course there are ones like the Nanomorph, which are primarily focused on repair efficiency. There are a wide array of options for all stages of the game.

The problem for me is more how it is presented visually.

Increased costs at stations, and reduced effectiveness.

Are both green writing as if it were something good, although it is something bad.

And looks just like the good in color where costs go down and effectiveness goes up.

Armor plates that increase Hull Points now also have the negative value of Increase Mass.

And that's shown in orange, you can see it's something negative.

The green just indicates that it has been improved by rarity; if you look at a white armor you'll see that those numbers are white.

So does "efficiency" refer to energy usage or %HP healed, as in station I don't seem to see a difference in the repair system's stats for either when changing the ship's armor?

Thanks

It affects the amount of healing; it won't change the % displayed on the equipment, but the actual number that is healed.

So is repair efficiency like my last car repair? I had to take it back to the dealership four times before it was 100% Or will parts of the ship fly off like in Serenity?

If you have repair efficiency of say 200%. Divide it by 100 and multiply that by whatever your healing is at to get actual healing. So, if I have a hps of 2000 and a repair efficiency of 200%. I have an actual hps of 2000*2=4000. It's just a healing multiplier (Well, it's super duper strong, so maybe not "just").
