"The Old Girl Mission" help

[Sawakaki]

So the mission says to board the Geraki ship and head to the same sector I first found the ancient ruins in. By the time I got around to this mission, the ship I was already flying was significantly more powerful than the Geraki, so I sold it. Once I get to the specified system, it won't advance the mission because I sold the ship. Is there a way to fix this, or did I just shoot myself in the foot in a big way?

Buy it back from the station you sold it at, should still be there.

Any way to see a log of stations I was at or something? I really have no idea where it was, oops.

Nope. You can look at the galaxy map and each sector will tell you if you've been there before based on map exploration %. You can also see any stations that may be present/discovered.

alright since we're on the topic of the old girl mission, i saved sam gave me the option to be a lone wolf, i woulda lost my white collar perk so i declined but its not giving me any more missions?

BTW, the easiest way to complete that mission:
Board the Gereiki
Fly to the system.
Wait for the enemy to spawn.
Warp back to system with station that has a good combat ship in.
Board your combat ship, warp to mission system.
Kill enemies
Warp back to station system, reboard Geraki.
Warp to mission system.

The alternative is to use a fleet - 6 V4G-As with purple gear will make short work of the enemies, you just have to fly the Geraki close enough to get the V4G-As to engage without getting close enough that they can fire at you, as you will be reduced to ash in seconds in that ship if you get hit.

BTW it seems not picking up Sam after destroying mobile base and warping away - will make the quest impossible to complete with any outcome, as his pod disappears.
