Report a translation problem
In my experience, the probability of finding an abandoned ship in a sector without a station seem's higher, then in sectors with a station.
Then my view might be biased though, cause you remember those "ohh f**ck" moments, better then "ah another random ship".
Especially, cause I didn't use anything bigger then a class 3 ship and the chance of "swallowing" something nice in these asteroid sectors is cloce to zero.
The shuttles are destroyed before you can reach them and a yacht and above is too big...
However, I believe he's watching threads like this with an evil grin in his face, thinking of the next way to ruin my day ;))

Yeah that's largely been my experience as well. Though, in the game's defense, I play on Hardcore and often die before I am really able to explore lol. It is rather frustrating when you encounter situations like that since, IMO, it feels like the game is taunting you. Hopefully later down the line we can have a way to actually capture derelicts in systems without a station.
As an aside: just wanted to say it's nice to see you on this forum. I'm used to seeing you on the Deeprock forum. Rock and Stone!
It take's probably 1-2 impacts to destroy a shuttle without shields, a yacht can take few more hits and so on...
So when assuming you are scouting the whole sector in a class 6 ship at snail pace, you rarely see anything smaller then class5+6 because of that.
Atm I've got a BadBoy with Venghi heavy shields, pirate boosters, tons of dmg resist and rechargers, that is able to go through the sector at full speed without taking a dent.
So I was able to see some smaller ships too, even some shuttles, but eventually gave up not being able to secure them -.-
Now I just look for crew pods, which also seem to be more frequent in the asteroid sectors.

Something like a boarding shuttle/pod with a skeleton crew from your passenger compartment going across into the empty ship would be grand, for bigger derelicts. You'd still need a bigger ship to have enough passenger space for said skeleton crew for a dread, plus the work to actually recruit said crew once/each time, but it'd be doable. Even if there were some obnoxiously-long way to do it, I'd take that over nothing. Pretty sure something is in the pipe at least.
Oh yeah, they definitely do get destroyed, so I think you're right. I've watched small blips wink out with my super crew-boosted Syndicate scanner, managed to pick up a couple in time, corvette here and a frigate there. In one sector I was able to grab two shuttles and a yacht in one go with my Sanctuary, several crafted mining beams to the fore and sides and purple Lithrium armor let it get around asteroid rushes fairly effectively at 74m/s. No 5's or 6's yet anywhere else though.
Given the size of your ship you must get hit nonstop, doesn't that interupt the scanning ?

btw, lomg time ago the player base was asking for / had also the idear of using the tractor beam to tow ships tru gates.....but i dont know if Laious ( Dev) did implement it yet. i hope so, because this was from the stzart of this game an issue.....and yes, i can feel your Pain when encountering a nice vessel with no station ....happend dozens of time to me ;)

Ich hatte daraufhin den Entwikkler mal gebeten das er den Traktorstrahl endlich dazu befähigt schiffe durch die sector tore hinterher zu ziehen.
Habe mal unter " Suggestions" ihn mal n message dagelassen :)
ich hoffe er reagiert darauf :)
Ich hätte ja für die Rettung solcher Schiffe auch ein oder zwei Ideen, könnte ich auch mal in die "suggestions" schreiben. Also vor allem für Schiffe wie in dem Thread, welche in Systemen ohne Tor oder in Asteroidenfeldern.
Allerdings verstehe ich den Tipp mit den Nebeln nicht.
und zu dem tipp, ich habe die meisten Schiffe effektiv in den Nebula sektoren entdeckt :) ob s immer noch so ist, weiß ich allerdings nicht da ich ca.1 j nicht mehr das Game angezockt hatte .
