Whatever the biggest size you can fit on your ship.
A 3-core one of those (size 6) with high skills can 1-shot a Venghi Titan.
Maybe 2 hits for a lower level player.
When you get bigger ships, build bigger cannons.
A set of size 14's can blow up a Venghi Battlestation.
This is also the path to great achievement...
-
Plasma Cannon , Sounds like a one-sided Game.
Then why are there other weapons at all, and different ships if there is only 1 way.
Not everyone wants to do the same thing in a game that is an open world.
-
So there should be more balance that other ways are an option.
-
Yes, he has, but only one way.
And as it sounds, nothing else works.
-
The Balance as a Player against the AI , hardly Played since War Update.
Hardness increased from normal and difficult , to difficult to extreme.
And that with good equipment, where medium becomes easy and difficult to medium.
And the same now works much weaker in the war update.
-
And mining also only gives XP until mining level reaches player level.
And there is even better equipment in better sectors where you die when you search for a station.
-
It is better if every way goes like before the war update.
So that everyone can play as they want.
And that along with the War Update.
Neither the AI is more difficult than before on lower levels.
A misconception some players have about the game (not saying this is the case), is to think that you automatically get an improvement when you get a bigger ship, which is not really true. If you don't have the right equipment for it, you might end up in a bad situation.
Maybe it is a design flaw, but I like it this way.
Anyway... I'm always trying to make things easier for new players and I'll do something soon.
I used to use a huge mess of overlapping beams all the time, but after getting a particular achievement, I decided to switch to large high-alpha-strike plasma cannons as my primary weapon choice.
You might have to change some gear that you don't want to change to for the time being if it means getting into areas you want to get into and you don't want to grind for upgrades to keep your current play style...
It is all about making due with what you find or buy or craft. Biggest thing is to experiment sometimes a good mix can save you from having to make too many changes to your current gear or play style.
I personally love a fast corvette for most of the game while I farm for items and credits to buy a Claymore and gear it up at least equal to my corvette and then the transition is easy and painless and then my goal is to upgrade the Claymore all the while having in mind to save gear and credits for a titan if I want to get the higher level bosses in the end game. I personally love a good mix of laser beams and Plasma Cannons to punch through the shields fast... I also save almost everything and make my credits through station quests and attacking ships... I start selling my lower grade gear as I find better higher grade gear and then the credits start rolling in real good... Try to gear up to take out lower level stations as soon as possible as that is where you will start getting the upgrades you want and need too... The whole point to the game is to try to farm the gear to meet your play style which means mixing it up until you get there...
