Where to find the Exiled?

I'm at level 19, the Exiled poped up a while ago (it logged a level 11 quest), and I cowardly fled. Now I do have the quest pending but I cannot find the ship (yes I'm lurking the dead zone on standard and nebula systems to no avail).
How can I met this guy again?


--EDIT-- Finally I found him at dead zone of a "Pitch Black" system!!
--EDIT 2-- BUG?? Now I have TWO "The Exiled" quests on my questlog (the second one logged as level 5 quest)!!!!
And the Exiled ship doesn't shoot back. It just steers towards me but never open fire!!!

Sorry to use your post for this... but what's the condition to get this quest?

I did get it at level 19 first time I played, and unlocked it.
Then I got it again in a game I started with that ship.
Then never got it again...

I think you have to be level 15-25 (no more, no less) AND wander in the dead zone of a pitch black system to get the quest.

oh, so if you get pass that level you can't find it anymore?

Exactly that, if you are over 25 you'll miss that quest, that's for sure as developer stated himself.

Similar happened to me.
Found him in a zone, fled.
Found him in another zone, killed him. Got a crew "Ziggy" and a ship, Hephaestus, somewhere I haven't gone yet.
First one didn't clear, upon completion of the second instance, and can't abandon. So, guess it's just permanently stuck in the quest log, unless it clears after i pick that ship up (it didn't). It is removed once you level out of it.

Paradox,you have done the quest, ziggy crew and hephaestus are the rewards.
and yes you can do the quest between lvls 15-25, personally on my games i wait till i am around 20-22 to trigger the quest.

I was confirming the quest log not clearing when you flee the first time. It is removed once you level out of it, though.
