Emergency warp

Hello All,

Is there an emergency warp button for the player ship?

Faffing about selecting a sector to warp to takes too long in an emergency! :)

That is why I click on one in advance ... been a few times i've gotten / let myself get blown up while trying decide where to warp to in those vital few seconds lol

But what key actually does the warp?

To add to that, one of the special crew members has a special ability connected to emergency warp. Does it even work on the player's ship?

Hmm, so I'm not sure I see the benefit of selecting in advance then. I still have to open the map and click on the sector to get the warp menu up....

Map opens with previous selected sector already selected. So you only need to hit the warp button.

Pre selection g a system saves you the moment of hesitation of selecting a system in the heat of battle. You simply press M key as your cursor moves to the Warp button, many deaths occur while selecting a destination

That's a good suggestion for a new type of equipment I think -
Emergency Warp: assign a button and when pressed it will teleport you to the closest system (or a pre-determined system).

Pressing M and clicking the warp button is pretty fast as long as you present a destination, would take out a lot of challenge to automate flagship emergency warping imo. I'm not saying it won't happen, it has been discussed. Maybe having it as just a relaxed mode permanent feature has been discussed as well.
