Bounty hunters
I understand so far, if I actively (shooting first) kill ships of some faction (say Red Sculls), I get more negative reputaton with them and eventually they send out hunter fleets after me.

1) If I kill those too (because I don't want to run all the time), even only as defense, my reputation goes down more and more - so more and more hunters will come after me.
Is this really correct - i.e. is there really no limit to the type and size of hunter fleets ?

2) I read about one or more bounties on my head. How do I know someone set bounties on me ? And is this only related to my negative reputation with a faction ?

1) This is the case once your rep has gone below -10k - so you probably won't run into it unless you try; it's a feature to let you more farm the hunter fleets and negative rep at the same time.

2) Factions don't set bounties. The way it works is that you have a certain "bounty" score, defined for each faction by the amount of negative rep with them, and how many instances of things that say "you will often attract more powerful enemies" (perks, ships (but only when you are flying them, not when in your fleet), and special crew) you have.

Ok, thanks. My rep with Red Scull is only -9000 . Still every now and then an increasingly (in type and numbers) stronger Red Scull fleet is warping in next to me and instantly start attacking me (sure, they hate me). To my knowledge I have no "..powerful enemies.." perks and the like. So maybe these warp-ins are only normal enemies and not hunters ?

So after all there is no real information to tell me if I am on some "black bounty list" of someone ? Is this correct ?

2nd last: is there a table or the like to tell me the "bounty score" of all those factions ? (If I understand you correctly, every faction got an own score.)

And last: is there a way to distinguish between "normal warp-in fleets" and "hunter fleets" ?

there are 2 kinds of hunter fleet.
1. pirate
They may rush to you on any sectors which controlled by non hostile factions.
Unless you clear all pirate sanctuaries in the sector controlled by the friendly faction

2. camp enemy
They are usually hunt you only in the sector of their own camp control.
Rarely, they will hunt you down in an uncontrolled sector. like the "ship graveyard".

press B key, you can see your reputation in other camp.

New to the game so please tell me if #1 is works! I watched a pirate hunter fleet come in and kill one of my favorite Syndicate station I use frequently. I gathered a couple of mercs, sniped at the fleet, get repaired and hit them again. Those tactics saved the other station. When another hunter fleet came in, sniping and station guns finished them off. THEN i cleaned out the two pirate hideouts in the sector.

Hunter Fleets are different from Battle Fleets. Battle Fleets are the ones with a big icon in the sector map and attack stations, not you directly. Hunter fleets are the squads that come after YOU (with a "hostile warp-in detected" warning) and won't give up easily.

What you defeated are battle fleets. To stop them, you have to destroy their stations in nearby sectors, cause that's where they are coming from :)

Good luck!

OOOY! Don't think I have enough to take on the nearby pirate station, maybe long range missiles might help

On the other hand, if you aid in the killing of four Battle Fleets, you would think that would at least slow them.

Thanks, loving the game

It should. I'm working on that :)
Enjoy!
