Profit from trade
hey,

how do i make profit from trade? so far i have never found a station that sells something below average. even tho stations have high supply of goods, they still are more expensive than average. im at starting sectors tho

you just have to get lucky (i've only seen it a few times), but you can still buy around average and sell where there is high demand elsewhere. not a steep of profits but its still progress.

Yeah as cdplayer said, at the start it might be hard to find good deals, but when you see something around AVG it might be a good idea to pick it up and sell where it is higher. You will find some good deals, just not as often.

I´ll work on it soon btw.. and add a "importer / exporter" flag to each product

You need the ultimate trader codex 3.0. It may be faction based but it shows min and max prices of items and where they sell. I am unsure how to really use this info as I don't trade but it's gotta help.

I will try to upload a screenshot later but the last 2 attempts failed.

yeah with trader codex 3.0 things get easier. But I will change it to show only nearby sector prices, so it is even better.

will try to find codex 3.0. btw, does station supply replanishes after some time and merchant ships somehow influence them?

i think economy patch is one of the most important ones. no point in trading if there is no economy, trade routes, merchant ships

there really should be some kind of replanishment of resources as soon as possible. i depleted all my good trade routes.

also AI is really stupid. sometimes they accidentally bump in to each other and start fightning. and sometimes i can just do full stop and shoot enemy and enemy keeps wiggling and misses all the shots. and those smaller ships just moving randomly and crashing to death most of the time.

also, disappearing loot is not cool. i got some nice loot from marauder hideout and did not save after. i died and lead, and i go to same hideout and no loot at all. same with loot in open space. i dont have free cargo space to pick it up, i go sell, go back to same place and loot is gone. not cool, not cool.

Yeah. I hear you but once you know you shouldn't get caught twice. You might want to dump something worthless and heavy to be able to loot the better thing. They dont stay there.

i usually carry alot of pricey cargo, cant dump progenitor cells just to pick up some small ship or something. why cant it stay? at least loot from static sources like salvaging and hideouts.

this game really needs some fresh ideas about gameplay. one person just cant think of everything.

I certainly do not disagree. I don't see why it cannot stay. But the entire concept of the game and having limited cargo space and weapons/equipment space is about sacrificing something for something else. If a 3000 credit weapon is floating is space and requires 2 space to pick it up I am gonna chuck away 2 space worth of something less valuable to get it. I kinda thought it was A if not THE defining characteristic of the game.

Be aware that you can store stuff on stations. Also equipment (no weapons or goods) goes by default to the bank which is accessable from ANY station. Drop some stuff in a station nearby and go grab that loot before it goes poof on you. I know you cannot always find one but keep it in mind.

I honestly think some thought has gone into disappearing loot and while you and maybe lots of others do not like it maybe the dev does. He is very active here so I am sure you will get an answer soon enough.

most likely majority of gameplay decisions at this point are as dev likes, but im sure he wants feedback from players, because he is making this game for players, not for himself :steamhappy:

so far i like this game, but there is not much to do now. it is somewhat like simple version of endless sky. could probably get some good ideas from there.
