Trojan ?
Hi guys,
I really do enjoy the game, but when I wanted to start the game today Windows Defender notified me that "Trojan:Script/Cloxer.A!cl" is embedded in the Star Valor.exe file :(.
Has anyone encountered this ?
I would be very glad for any responses.
Best wishes,
Marek

My Kaspersky didn't pick up anything, and I keep it up to date.
I'm also running the beta version.

Did anyone else have a problem?

@Maku, it's possible it was infected locally. You should try downloading something like Stinger and run in your computer. You can find it through a Google search in McAfee's site, it's free.

At least in my case, nor Kaspersky or McAfee (Stinger) pick up anything wrong.

I did some quick reading and apparently Cloxer attempts to hijack your browsing, so be careful until you are sure your computer is clean, because you might be opening fake websites even when typing the correct web address, simply because your DNS table was altered to a fake one. After you cleaned it up, be sure it didn't left anything compromised in your browser and network settings.

Also, this is traditionally spread as document macros or compromised websites.

Last but not least, I strongly recommend you get a proper security solution. I'm found of Kaspersky, but McAfee is good too. A signature is money well invested for all you get back.

Check PCMag for Best AV Protection 2019, and they will also recommend Bitdefender and Webroot.

I made another check and the files are clean. Beta build is currently the same as default. Also, I'm pretty sure Steam wouldn't allow infected files to be published... So, it is probably on your machine.

Hey guys,

thanks a lot for your answers. I run simultaneously Windows Defender and Malwarebytes (pro edittion, paid one) - both systems are up to date - after I ran deep scans yesterday on both prrogrammes and restarted PC, there was nothing - I ll try to redownload the game and see what happens.
This thing aside - the game is really fun ! Thanks for the good job !

Best wishes,
Marek
