Maintain diversity of star-ratings?

Hello, I've been considering this game for a while, and after watching some lets-plays and with the Steam sale, I'm considering picking it up.

One thing I'm wondering is if it is possible to maintain a diversity of room qualities. That is to say, instead of upgrading ALL rooms to the next star level when achieved, would it be possible to have multiple levels. I know from a strictly gameplay perspective, one might wish to upgrade every room to make more money, but I often get more out of a game if I roleplay it a bit, and as such I might want to establish a generally 3-star hotel with some 4-star rooms and a 5-star suite or two, with the idea being that it's mostly a mid-range hotel but with some nicer options available for those willing to pay more.

Is that a viable gameplay style? I know it's not optimal but that's not what I'm looking for. Is it at least viable or is the only way to reach the next level to upgrade all rooms?

Hey There!

It certainly is possible! It was/is a major design consideration for us to allow this to happen. One of our upcoming updates will actually be expanding upon this further with better marketing, guest spawning and reviews etc. that tie heavily into what rooms you have available.
