Regarding Co-op

I saw that you can't unlock characters during co-op play? Is this any co-op play? Does it kinda make co-op pointless if you can't progress? I saw this was co-op and got it with high hopes of fun with a friend split screen and online...however this information worries me that it is kinda pointless with no progress capture.

Reading is important, and I am just verifying what I have read to ensure that it is indeed true. I am not going to ask a friend to spend money on a game just to test something like this...

That happens when you play online co-op the second player doesn't get ♥♥♥♥ but whoever is the host obtains everything.

Split screen is fine because the progress is on one system anyways.

Wow, that is crazy. I was considering talking my friend into buying it...seems like that is a bad idea. Not obtaining anything in online co-op explains why I find no sessions....who would want to really waste their time if they get nothing out of it.

While researching DW9, I read that local co-op is similar to the above. However, online co-op gives resources to both players. That leads me to believe DW9 may be the better option? I am trying DW9 now after playing some of this; not sure what I am going to recommend to my buddy right now...however the lack of resources given to both players in this game hurts it pretty bad. Unless I am misunderstanding something.

Whoever is the host has story progression in DW9, but player 2 gets any resources collected in the hosts world.

WO4U is the better game but for online co-op you both would have to play the game twice.
